It's inspirational and gives a positive vibe. I'm thinking of getting my own copy when I have an extra budget for it. I'd like to be able to read it over as a good guide in life.

| 2. HMCarreiro (20) | 3 months ago | The Bible - reading God's word, trying to understand it, and seeking to live it out has completely changed my life. Other eye openers for me have been: 1) The Heavenly Man - the story of a Chinese believer who has been imprisoned several times for his faith and has witnessed many miracles despite the intense persecution of the government 2) Surprised by the Voice of God - Jack Deere - through Bible study and modern day testimonies I learned that I can hear God's voice today and that I should earnestly desire to have His guidance and that I should expect to hear from God

4. cobrateacher (1049) | 2 months ago | When I was in high school, I read a book that has been part of my attitude forever. It was Robert Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land. It was riveting! I felt the changes in me as they took place throughout the reading. I accept others as they are. I don't want to change anyone, nor will I have them change me. I accept myself, too. I'm overly emotional and overly logical. I'm OK with being just a bit bipolar. Other people are fascinating. Nobody is all that bad; there's a seed of goodness there somewhere. I hope I can help them grow that seed. I guess that's most of why I'm a teacher. The only thing I hate is hate. I believe each of us has a shiny little chunk of God in our souls, and we'll achieve great happiness if we focus on it and look for the God in others. We can mske this world a better place, and we must! Now that's a book that changed my life! Before reading it, I was a spoiled brat, the typical little pricess for whom nothing was ever good enough and nobody was ever acceptable. How sad I was!

5. john_galt44 (150) | 2 months ago | Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Sometime in my early 20's I read the back cover as usual and thought it sounded good. It was not only good, it was great! The book teaches the value of the individual and the obstacles we face while trying to maintain our identity. This novel is even more relavent now. I have read it many times since then and it just gets better! My 20 year old son recently completed it for the first time and loved it!

6. shlooper (283) | 2 months ago | The Color Purple by Alice Walker opened my eyes to so many things that I had been blind to. It really changed how I think and who I am. I think that the thing that changed me was discovering how we can enslave ourselves, and how we create our own freedom. I am very glad that I read it.
