I am so tired, but it was worth it...

My in-laws..no I can't say I ever felt good about visits with them? And I have not been happily suprised by kindness.
I am HAPPY that it worked out for you? I think I will stay home! LOL!

Some times we put the cart before the horse and make more work for our selves.

We always fear the unknown and here we see you and that sister in law not doing so good.

and if she started, you just do a Dianna Ross on her and sing and dance at her with all the moves,

Im sure that would bring the house down and the both of you would never fight again, as one of you would do the song.

It happens to me also a lot of times dhangski...With friends and some socialization at work before...When I am emotionally and physically drained then thought of not attending a party but turned out to be very nice and wonderful moment!

that day turn out to be well and good for you!!!besides your hesitationnot really specifically on in-laws but i had with friends.when im not contemplating to go since i maybe bored or can see those mutual friends that i dont like to see...but had to go since i dont want to hurt my friends feeling..in the end im glad that the mutual friend was not present..maybe thinking that im theretoo bad she misses the fun and the food..

That will never happen with my in laws! My kids will be ostracized like they did before. I will never ever bring them there. Besides, they are grown ups who could decide for their own and I have this feeling they will not go.

I think you should be thankful that your trip had pushed through and have a great and warm day with your in-laws. I think constant visitation to our in-laws will help us to bind a harmonious relationship with them and settle some of the old grudges that we have.

My situation is much worse than yours because I'm living with my in-laws. Though they are not here all the time (they have already migrated to the USA), they usually spend 2 months vacation with us every year. My secret is just to go along with them and not make any action that could create conflicts. I think it's a give and take relationship, I have married their daughter and they become a part of me from then on.

I'm glad that you did had fun with your in-laws. For me, the best times that I spent are with my in-laws, during reunions, parties. That I really miss now, for I am in the U.S. now. and it's been 5 years since I had a vacation there in the Philippines. I miss you my sis-in-law.

I'm not sure if im unlucky having no in-laws around. I mean my wife is the only child and her parents died when she was young. I meet some of her cousins and we have her auntie at home. But its too different when you have to really deal with your partners siblings and parents. Thats I missed too!

Sometimes the situation not as worst as expected. If you are willing to take the first step, the coming scenery will be good. But not always.

Hope that everyone around us also can have your experiencee, although have arguement, but with communications, everything become well again.
