making a picnic ot take

Normally we bring stuff with us. Stuff like sandwiches, drinks, grapes, cereal bars, simple stuff. Our picnic is usually at one of my sister's soccer games, so we don't bring stuff they can't eat between games.

It depends on how flush I am, if I have a bit of spare money I will treat us to food out but other times I make sarnies to take with us. Your picnic sounds gorgeous, hope that you have a good time.

I haven't heard any one mention doing this in AGES! When my children were all little it was a 2 hour drive to go see their Dad's family and a 4 hour one to see mine. We usually left as soon as their Dad got off work and we always packed food to eat on the way. Occasionally we'd stop at a roadside inn and get drinks or a snack, but we packed the meal.

Always when we'd leave my parents house my Mom would pack us something to eat on the way back.

We bring food and beverages when we go out, not only for picnics. Sometimes it's not enough so we buy stuff when he get to our destination.

Picnics are a wonderul way to be creative, inventive (love the blue ceese idea!) and save money. I agree with you. Those scalper are just praying on people who don't have the good sense that you and I have. Your picnic sounds delicious!

During the summer months there are always summer concerts in the parks.
I usually pack sandwiches, and drinks in order to eliminate buying snacks from vendors, which can become very costly.
Yesterday, we went to a parade, and did not have our own food, we spent almost $10.00 for 3 hotdogs and one drink.

We definitely pack picnics, the food tastes better, and it is healthier, to say nothing of the money saved. You have done some good planning, have a great time. Take some pictures.

We always pack food during picnics in a way we can save a lot plus we can also decide what we want to eat that very moment! It's been awhile we have not done that but we are really waiting for a good weather here, the real summer! LOL!

We try to take food but invariably forget. We have the coolers and the ice and the car trunk that is large enough to handle everything and then forget to take the stuff.

We should make a list... be organized... I dunno.

Your picnic food sounds lovely. Since I have three teenage boys who seem to have hollow legs, it costs me a fortune to buy food when we are out. I generally make a picnic consisting of chicken, lettuce and mayo sandwiches, a homemade cake or slice that travels well, fruit and drinks. If we won't be eating for several hours, I put the chicken and mayo mix in a container and make either sandwiches or rolls when we arrive.
