We've often heard someone called emotionally immature and maybe one timein our life we have been criticised as being emotionally immature. So what is emmotional immaturity/ What are its manifestations and how do you cope with it as the one who is emotionally immature and as the one who has to deal with an emotionally immature person?

I'm not so bold as to say that I have not been emotionally immature in the past so I know exactly what people mean when they say the term. To me it's not being able to handle certain situations very well or reading too much into what someone says. Over analyzing anything can make a bad situation worse. I know that I get a little out of sorts when Tommy leaves for weeks on end for work but after the first few days I get used to it. Someone might say that is being emotionally immature but I think it's just human nature to miss someone that you care about. Every person will have their own definition of the term and some may see it as a true character flaw .. but again, that is all in how someone sees it and how they choose to deal with the person that is having the emotional enema.

No, I don't think that that is being emotionally immature at all. I agree it is natural to feel bad when your love one leaves even for a few days. That's just human but not emotionally immature. The fact that you can deal with it later proves so. I think emotional immaturity would imply something more serious which deeply affects or influences the reactions of a person to a certain situation. And how they are dealt with by others is also quite important.
