Toilet Paper or Water.....Why?

And in Sweden we always use toilet paper.
And then wash our hands after that with soap and water

we use the water and clean with the hands and it is just cleaning another part of the body and i think water is the best way to clean and use a Dettol hand wash to clean the hands....i think difference of culture

99% of my country does this..and it is perfectly all right..sense of hygine varies..we feel toilet papers are not really very hygenic and water actually washes off 100% and so no itchy bums..i think it is a mindset..not necessary all think alike..views and culutre always vary that is why discussions come out..have a nice day.

Hell I dont care if your young, I wouldnt want to do that, so gross. And they are in india. You know the country that are taking our call center jobs and others.

Ah, I don't care about jobs going to India, because so many come back to the U.S. I've been around a while. For a long time people complained the jobs were going to Mexico, then it was Japan, then it was China, then it was Vietnam, now it's India. But I find this toilet paper issue sort of interesting. It's just different customs and what you are used to.

I use water and toilet paper. I don't think toilet paper is enough. At home we have this little hose that is place beside the water closet, it looks like a hand shower but smaller. I don't know if you have it in your place, but here you can buy it wherever bathroom accessories are sold.

My toilet is in a room by itself...and I know some toilets are in the ground and to use it you have to squat...but there is no other water available other than what you have just done your business in. So how do you get the water to wash yourself in this instance?

well i am from India i think it may vary from country to country more cutural..but the hotels here do have toilet paper rolls for the tourists to use..local will not use it..this is the way it is done here..i think it is more hygenic..

I have known people that have traveled overseas before so i have heard of countries where people do that. Of coarse being a spoiled american i think i need paper and wipes. There were times i had to go in abush and use leaves. Ouch, i bit rough. I always try to carry a few tissue in my bag.

well that is how you feel Indians find i gross using a toilet paper is it actually clean or just wiped...our is 100% washed off for sure..u have a chance of something sticking in still bcoz it is a wipe...i think it varies from region to region and the ways may vary..bottom line is to keep clean and hygenic..

But you also need to use water and not just toilet paper. It feels gross with just toilet paper and you never know that your crap is on your underwear, ewww. Toilet paper is not enough to clean, water is more hygienic.

Of coarse each culture has its own way of everything. Also each think their own the best way. Im sure both ways are just fine. I do use toilet paer (being american) however i also have baby wipes there for that wet cleaning we all need.

Maybe there are just places where plumming isnt as great as other places. Varies from household to household actually. And the amount of tissue a person uses.
