Do you like writing poetry?

We are quite the same... but mostly I write when I am in love or the opposite of it which is extremely broken-hearted... I usually write about or for someone I love... if I have the chance I let her read it or read it to her myself... I also write songs and sing it for her... I do write songs and poems for other people too... in fact there is one song I wrote for my brother about his love for a common friend... well they didn't exactly end up together but at some point their feelings were mutual..

When I am inspired by emotional changes in my life. I love writing but poetry seem to happen only as a true expression of the way I am feeling. Here is one I wrote for my daughter when she graduated high school. Hope you like it.

Whenever we think of you

A smile forms from deep within
As our hearts overflow with love
For the child that was given to us
From heaven above

Children ourselves
Together we grew
We laughed and we cried
As time flew by

Our beautiful baby girl
Became a wonderful child
Who we loved forever and a mile
But that seemed to last only a little while

In the blink of an eye
You became a young woman
Full of confidence and grace
Still bringing smiles to our face

We cannot help but smile
As we think of you
With all the wonderful things that you do
Tara, we are so proud of you

As you go out into the world do what is in your heart
We will pray that we have done our part
That you have learned as much from us as we have from you
Always remember we are here for you

Hello,
Broken heart,craving or longing for something/someone, or happy with love that is when I will write . I seem to write more when I am on a beach or out and about . I have a whole collction of poems I am thinking about putting into a book .

Hmmm... When I was young, I used to write a poem, mostly regarding my feelings but now, I haven't had the time to do it... I have a favorite poem though...

As I go musing through this mournful land"

As I go musing through this mournful land
Soothed by the pine-tree's solemn harmony,
Thy well-loved image comes and walks by me.
I seem to hold thee by the gentle hand
And talk of things I dimly understand,
That thy dear spirit set to mine may be
As to an intricate lock the simple key,
That knows it, and can move its iron band.
Then, when the torrent's music bids me wake,
And I stand staring at the purple hills;
Alone, and at the pine-woods and the lake,
I feel as one whom tears nor dreams can slake;
The sweet past with despair the future fills;

I usually write poetry when I am overcome by emotions too hard to verbally explain. Its my method of communication of how I feel at the time.

It's weird that I don't really write poetry anymore. I used to write very good ones when I was in high school. But then this may be because being a teenager, one is very idealistic. I noticed at the time I tend to write good poetry when I just fell in love with someone or had a huge crush on someone. Those states inspire me to write.

I write sonnets about my cats. I have a book, Cat-House Sonnets, 100 poems celebrating cats. It was such a thrill holding my book in my hands. It has won a Muse Medallion from Cat Writers Association, another thrill.

The best part of having this book is that I get to hear what other cat-lovers think about my sonnets. So far, so good. The reviews are glorious; the book is well received.

Yes. i like poetry. But I'm not fond of using metaphors. I'm fond of writing my poetry in words that depict reality. I mean, no room for second meanings. ahahahha.

i love writting my own poetry, its so much i can put in a poem that i cant say aloud and it makes me feel good when i have put it in a poem..
i have sooo many pages and i have a book with a few diff poems in it..i have made each of my family members a poem of our lives growing up till now and they are very special msgs to them all..

I write poetry when the muse strikes me. Sometimes I will wake up in the middle of the night and the words to a poem come pouring out. Sometimes I will respond to a situation or emotion. Sometimes I will use poetry to express my feelings toward others. And sometimes I will use my poetry to help others cope with something going on in their lives.

I have had the thrill of having my poems published. It is great when others appreciate what you do.
