Many a times it so happens that I return home from very hot sunny afternoon and if I had no water while I was out for 3-4 hours, I drink one whole jug of 2 liters without any problem. Second thing, too much oral ingestion [by mouth] is never harmful as long as both your kidneys are healthy. Water ingestion by mouth is restricted only for the persons suffering from kidney failure. Healthy persons like you and I can drink as much water as you wish. There is no upper limit or harm. Excessive water is very well excreted by kidneys and internal glands like adrenals, posterior pituitary and some hormones regulate water balance by excreting water in the form of urine, sweat, stool, breath and direct evoperation.
