For awhile now, I haven't felt hungry! And I mean ever! I just don't ever feel hungry. On impulse this evening, I checked the back of the honey bottle as I was giving my cup of tea a nice glop and found the problem! Turns out that one tablespoon of generic honey has sixty calories! And considering that I drink up to five small cups of tea daily, and use a tablespoon of honey for each cup, that's three hundred calories. But it's not three hundred in addition to three square meals. It's three hundred calories instead of any food! I'm lucky if I feel like eating one sandwich the entire day. Or a cup of soup. Could explain why I never feel hungry! I'm getting those sneaky calories. What are some of the sneaky high calorie foods in your diet? Do you munch foods while watching TV and don't realize how many extra calories you're adding?

beautyqueen26 (7429) | 4 months ago | My kid does the same thing. She is also a stick figure and has always had trouble keeping weight on, so I don't fuss too much. If she is lucky, she won't be cursed with my fat genes. For me, weight is a constant issue! Thanks to the dang pregnancy. Well that was a big old blessing and curse in one neat package. Got a kid out of the deal and it wrecked my metabolism.

I will be more cautious and watchful and make sure that she does not slip back on her weight. I did not know that part. I just assumed she would be putting on some weight later. But, I guess it's possible this will always struggle with being thin and not putting on weight. I had no idea that was a real condtion. beautyqueen26 (7429) | 4 months ago | Your comments are very well taken and appreciated. I had not considered the emotional toll that she might face for being so thin as she grows up. I did not want to come across as mean in my earlier comments about thin being a blessing. Looking back on it now, I can remember being her age and being stick thin. I was on medications cause of my UTI's and the meds caused me to be so skinny. I was never healthy. I did not eat a lot, cause I was not hungry. I remember feeling awkard at my small size. My hair would not grow long and my mom kept pressuring me to make my hair grow! She would point out other girls and say, "Look how long her hair is!" And of course, I couldn't have long hair like that cause of the meds. When I went off them at age 11, my body did a double take and started gaining so much weight. I've struggled since then to maintain a healthy lower weight. I will keep an eye on her health as she grows up to make sure that she knows that she is beautiful and normal no matter what her weight is. I don't want to pass on the feeling that she is not deserving of love cause she is either too thin or too fat. Being fat is my hang up, but I don't want to pass an inferiority complex along to her. Your comments are much appreciated. Thanks for taking time to help me understand the "thin" experience. Noone talks about these things anymore. I wouldn't have known if you hadn't shared. Yes, I munch food without even thinking about my calorie intake but i tried to lessen my regular meals. When someone gets older, the metabolism is not that fast in burning calories anymore. I'm watching my diet now. If I don't watch it, I'll grow bigger and bigger and have all sorts of disease. I don't want it.

Some days I drink way more than I should. Lots of times during the day I get so busy that I don't really feel hungry. I am a iced tea drinker. It has to be sweet though. I can drink it either way but my husband won't drink it with no sugar and I just am too lazy to make 2 different kinds. I always feel good about myself for drinking a big glass of tea with about 50 calories rather than drinking a big 24oz bottle of Mountain Dew that equals 300 calories.

beautyqueen26 (7429) | 4 months ago | I have the easiest trick to avoid chocolate cravings. Eat two bananas and drink water. Works for me, everytime. The fruit doesn't contain so much sugar that you would crash. And it's about two hundred calories. The fiber helps fill up the tummy and the water keeps you hydrated. Also, rice expands in the tummy when you drink lots of water, so you will never feel hungry if you have rice with each meal. Best of luck. Thanks for your post.
