sherlock27 (795) | 3 months ago | I don't like to keep chicken in the freezer if I can help it. I usually only buy it when I know I'm going to cook it that day or the next. I find that after it's frozen there are dark blood spots through out that just don't look very appealing to me. I also think the meat gets tough, especially if it's frozen for long periods of time.

2. sharay (874) | 3 months ago | the maximum time limit i have kept them inside is just 3 days or sometimes rarely for about one week, not more than that because i feel the taste changes from that of the fresh ones, i think people normally keep them anywhere from 6 to 12 months if it remains in the freezer, you have to wrap it accordingly in order to prevent freezer burn, so i hope three months should be fine

3. applefreak (1292) | 3 months ago | it depends on how it was handled before. when you got it from the supermarket, did you freeze it immediately? was it ever thawed in the transportation process. if it was frozen all the way, i'd say it's safe to eat it. just out of curiousity, why did you keep it for so long. sorry if it seems rude to ask.;p

4. lilybug (8078) | 3 months ago | Most of what I have ever read about freezing things says that frozen meat is good for up to 3 months. I think that as long as it was still fresh when it went into the freezer then it should be fine. You will want to take it out and use it soon though or it may start to get freezer burn.

Ruthep (2843) | 2 months ago | smells like chicken that has been frozen for a couple weeks. As long as it hasn't gotten freezer burn it is good. I have had chicken from the freezer that has been there probably 6 months and that tasted good.

7. deebomb (6848) | 3 months ago | Yes a chicken that has been in the freezer for 3 month is safe to eat. After it has been defrosted and cooked of course(HAHA). Look at the chicken to see if it has freezer burn. To see if the chicken has freezer burn look to see if the skin is very white and dull looking. Freezer burn can cause the chicken to become tough and dried out. It will taste spoiled. Freezer burn is caused by being exposed to to much oxygen. When you want to put something in the freezer for and extended period of time wrap it tightly with at least a couple of layers of saran wrap before putting it in a freezer bag. The saran wrap will keep the oxygin frm the food.

9. mrghill (1233) | 3 months ago | I'm not sure how long meat can last in a frozen state. I've had some beef steaks recently that probably died back in the 1980's and It tasted like I expected when it was cooked. I'm sure if that chicken was in a cryogenic state it's in good shape, but you'll never beat fresh meat for great taste. Ask any cannibal.

| 10. nehenderson (74) | 2 months ago | Yes it is perfectly safe to eat. It can be kept frozen for 6 months and still be very good. After that time it can become freezer burned and that will change the taste and texture of the meat.
