how to beat distractions?

wherever there is a will, there is a way.
i think the first to do is thinking about weather the aim you set is resonable.
there are too difficult words means that you haven't reach the level.
maybe you should choose anther book which you can get knowledge and happiness when you read it.
so i think it is not your problem but your aim.

1. there are too many difficult words;
Try looking the words up on the internet (Google).

2. i can't remember all the names of foreign characters and places.
It is ok not to remember all the names, the more you see them the easier it will be to remember them.

3. the book is too long.
Don't feel like your in a rush, take your time with the book, there is no deadline.

4. i feel sleepy after a few pages.
This is ok, when you feel tired just stop and give yourself a break and continue it at another time.

my god,is there still hope for me?
Take you time and try to enjoy the experience. This should not feel like it is a chore or something you don't like to do. I don't know what book your trying to read, possibly it is a book of no interest to you at all. Some books can be very boring, I too have tried reading books that have lost my interest and I did not like so then I will look for another book. Try getting another book that will be more interesting to you.
