Congress ratings falls to new lows

Congress is not doing a good job at all. The polls, on the other hand, should alot lower. Lol. Seriously, though, Congress sucks.

What is interesting is both of the candidates come from this congress that has single digit numbers. I wonder what the members of congress think when America disaproves of them more than the President. There is something to think about. Bush's approval might be lower but atlest it is still in the double digits. To ask is congress doing a good job I would have to ask what has congress done. They got to investigate steriods in baseball. Make sure you call up oil execs one more time.

I agree, Congress is not doing a good job. They deregulated oil in the commodities market making it easier and cheaper for speculators to jack up futures prices. They talk about how big oil companies are to blame and we need alternative resources but they once again squashed efforts by companies trying to build solar and wind power. They hold hearings and spend our money to see if some over payed baseball player is using steroids, and then they bring him or them in to sign autographs and have a tour of capital hill. they constantly veto good ideas if the other party thought of it because it is about party lines not what is good for the people. There needs to be term limits on congress because these smae people keep holding down the jobs and dragging us down. it is all about money for them. They wouldn't dare punish the big businesses because they know who is paying them, if they did they might lose financial backing and not get re-elected. Imagine, then they would have to go to the real world and get a job like most of us have and they probably are not qualified to do it. It is our own fault for re-electing them, but people get beaten down so much they don't bother even trying to make a difference.

I think that they could do better. I do not know about 9% as the poll is that like 9 out of 100 because if so then that is pretty darn low if you ask me. I might give them more credit than that.

I think people are just generally uhappy with thw state of affairs in the US these days. They need to have someone to blame with how things are going in this country and congress is an easy target. They should be trying to do more to get down the price of gas however.

I agree with the poll they should have started doing more and better for the money they get than what they are doing!

I think it is time to quit worrying what party they are with and start doing things to help our country. It is getting so out of hand.

The people in the US and Canada both, are tired of politicians being out of control and doing everything you don't want. It is time for a change, but Barak is not it unfortunately. He cannot do it by himself. He can change the name on the desk, but that's all.

Now, the voters CAN make changes that do not need the president. And if you elect enough, the president and his veto power can go hump stumps.

2/3 majority effectively stops the president in his tracks.

Congress is and always she been the not so bright little brother of the government that the others give a job to keep them busy. In my opinion they should have had them pick up trash on the White House lawn instead. Something harmless.

I agree with lordtimber- Congress sucks!The problem here is that everyone hates the house and senate- unless they are your senator or representative.Each and every one of these myrmidons is concerned about only two things:
1. Re-election.
2. Assuring that their district receives the largest allocation of federal funding.
None of them put the good of the country as thir first priority.Voters are convinced by smooth talking politicians that if they enact term limits their district will be at a disadvantage when it comes to bringing home the pork. What other explanation is there for the morons we see on the news every night? Let's all vow to vote against the incumbent (regardless of party) during every election cycle until their approval rating rises above 65%!
