Cancel GH

General hospital has been on since I was a kid, and I have to say right now I never got into it and have never watched it, I am not able to have the tv on during the day because of my kids, so if this show were to get canceled I would never miss it.

First, may I ask where you read this at?

I would be very upset if they cancelled General Hospital. Since I've been on disability for the past 8 years, I have watched the three soaps on ABC including GH faithfully. When I don't watch it, I dvr it to watch later. Out of the three ABC soaps, I think GH is my favorite. It is always suspenseful and exciting. It's been on TV for a very long time too.

I haven't heard or read that any where. I don't see it happening. If it does then I guess I won't have any thing to DVR any more.

I only get into some of the stories on the show, but I've been watching it since I was a child, my mother also loved it. I think I would really miss it if they canceled it, it's a part of my history!

Until it actually happened, I won't believe it. Where did you read it? I read several preview and soap news sites and haven't heard anything even remotely giving this credence. I hope and believe you are mistaken.
GH has a very loyal fanbase that would definitely protest vocally and persistently if they tried.

It's top rated, why would they cancel it? Been on since 1963 I believe. often a leader in story lines. I doubt theyd cancel it. What an outrage there'd be!

NBC has been saying the same thing about Days forever, but it's still around (Thank goodness). So I wouldn't put too much stock into it. It's probably just to excite viewers into tuning into GH again to see why it's so bad that it might be cancelled. Soaps rarely get cancelled, that I know of anyway. There was Another World, way back when - but that's one of the only exceptions I know. If soaps kept getting cancelled just because storylines sucked, Passions would've been booted off the air after its first episode. I can't believe it's still around even (and I can't believe I actually watched it for a year, hah!).

Long-running soaps have been cancelled in the past. But GH has a large audience, so I'm not sure if it'll happen.
I've been watching Gh for 30 years, on and off. I wouldn't be happy if it was cancelled, but I'd survive. All I ask is that they resolve open storylines before ending the show.

Man. I might just have to throw a party if they do. I've been an avid All My Children watcher since I was like 10. even earlier than that cuz I watched it with my parents. I dont know. I guess it's not a bad show. I just have a bais on soaps. lol.

Although the fate of ALL soaps in general seems to be in jeaporady as viewership seems to be down across the boards for this genre, I sincerely doubt they will single out GH to be canceled. Not first anyways. Maybe one of the lower rated ABC soaps. But one thing is for certain, they need to start focusing on what the FANS want...a little less mob induced show and a little more family, history and LOVE in the afternoons. Follow through with story lines they start and never finish and consistency. A lot more consistency. And Liason. Give us our great Jason and Elizabeth love story. Tee hee (Had to throw that in there just for you Jasamlila)!
