Saudi Fuel Price: P7.00 ...!!! |
|
I was watching local news last night. Headline? Another increase in the fare for the commuters in PUJs & PUVs. Though it's another burden for us, but with the unstoppable oil price hike weekly, I can't blame those people demanding for fare increase. But what struck me most is the feature story last night. This was probably the cheapest oil price i have ever heard in my entire life. Premium 95-Octane gasoline in Saudi only costs 60 halala, which is equivalent to Php7.00 per liter!! It's not surprising, their lying on the bed of oil. But hearing this kind nowadays would really surprise you. Now make a comparison, Php50.00+ & Php7.00. Was it that really expensive for the oil to make its way here in our country?..

3. everlasting (9290) | 3 months ago | do you know that we are paying more than what is sold in the US? I computed it and we are paying the equinvalent of $4.65 per gallon while the US have $4 per gallon. Our pricing system here in the Phiippines was patterned after singapore crude (singapore's oil pricing system) and you have to wonder why they patterned it there. Singapore has a high pricing system on oil to discourage their citizens to use their cars and instead use the public transport. Aside from that onerous pricing system, our government wants a chunk of the loot by imposing EVAT on all oil products. Poor Pinoys!

With the government taxing it the prices will become more higher than when it was released from Saudi. Unless we become an Oil producer ourselves we will be at their mercy for the prices.
