Discrimanation to others

Do the people in that store think that because a person is disabled that they never have to eat? What boneheads! Everyone involved in that mess should be forced to take some sort of sensitivity training. And the store should publicly apologizing to this poor woman!

Isn't that illegal? I though supermarkets and services had an obligation to cater to everyone. That's not exactly good business policy is it?

What was it she needed exactly, just someone to go around and assist her? That would just be plain common curtesy wouldn't it?

Well, here in the US that is against the law to discriminate against the disabled. In our stores we have wheel chairs and automatic little vehicles to drive.. and if you need help someone will assist you. Publix supermarket has helped me more than once when I couldn't walk well. The woman went around with me to show me where things were and to get them off the shelf for me if I couldn't reach them.

No it's not fair.
I would think that would be illegal. It is over here. No if the person had no shoes or no hirt on they can refuse to help them but not for a disability.
I didn't know there were places that were still that way.

No it is not fair, and it is inhumane to discriminate against any one. especialy anyone that has a disability. This store should be ashamed of itself. this woman, has rights just like everyone else.

Here in the U.S., she'd be a rich woman after a lawsuit! That is horrible of that store, I would hope that everyone would boycott them, not do business with them. Better yet, I hope those people are put in that situation someday and treated exactly the same way!

Well of course it's unfair.
I have a brother in law that's disabled and sometimes people discriminate against him too.
When he goes to the mall with us people treat him differently,they stare and some even point. Like if they never saw someone like him before, it's just plain judging and i hate it when people do that.
We once went to the supermarket and a little girl asked him what's wrong with him. He told her and she frowned, then walked away.
What they did to that woman was wrong and she should have complained to the manager, because most of the time they understand or if not she should go to the local newspaper. let them write them up.
I love disabled people and what that supermarket has done, has gotten me angry.

ofcourse it is not fair, everyone should be treated fairly, especially if you disabled. but isnt this illegal? if it isnt, doubt they are getting very good bussiness anyway.

That is something that would have not happened here in the US. That is really strange that they would do that to someone. The could have at least got someone to shop for her if they were not going to let her come in the store. From time to time I have read some really strange things that go on in other countries. I always thought that no matter where you like they always look out for the handicap. But I see that I was wrong about that.

To me this is cruel and should not happen anywhere in this world. People with disabilities don't choose to have them and those who prevent them from living a normal life should be ashamed of themselves.
Here in America, most stores have wheel chair access and provide parking spaces for handicapped people. Hey, this woman should sue the store or can she in New Zealand?
