should there be dress code n schools and colleges? |
|
i think smartness comes from one's action and and discipline comes with punctuality and not the dress code.most of the colleges are against making it mandatory for the students to be like band people.uniformity lies in ones thought and equality comes with the idealogy of the organization.what is your opnion?

2. piasabird (724) | 1 month ago | Is your country thinking about a dress code for college students? I think that dress codes for grade school and middle school is fine but once a person gets older I think they should be able to dress the way they want to, especially in college.

3. goinliveinfive (463) | 1 month ago | You're correct on all counts. Now for the other side of the argument: concealed weapons come from baggy clothing and from under shirts that aren't tucked in. Teenage parents come from girls dressing provocatively all the time and teenage boys without the self-control to deal with that constant bombardment taking the bait. Gang rivalries in school hallways ensue when rival gangs are allowed to show their colors without restriction and materialism is promoted by every kid in school attempting to keep up with or one-up each-other on the latest and often costly fashions. No, I don't learn with my sneakers but I don't want to get killed over them either.

| 4. gtgirl6643 (25) | 1 month ago | I definately think there should be a dress code for girls. The thing is, even with a dress code, it's going to be broken, but broken in a way like girls wearing short shorts, and getting away with it only because they are pretty in them. But without the dress code ALL the girls would be wearing short shorts, and if you know what I mean, not all girls should be wearing short shorts.

6. Ricky007 (452) | 1 month ago | yes, i think there must be a dress code in schools but not in colleges. Students in schools are in growing phase and immature, so they shud be taught about maintaining discipline and decorum of the school which wud help them in future.. once they get into some job, there also they have to follow certain dress code, like wearing only formal clothes, so telling them about the value of following the dress code from school time woould really benefit them..

7. Hayley_N (526) | 1 month ago | I think it’s a great idea, for many reasons. As kid leave school and enter the work force they will find that all most all jobs have some form of dress code. You won’t see a plumber in a suit and tie or lawyers in bib overall. Can you think of a type of job that doesn’t have some type of dress code? When I was growing up we were so poor I had to wear clothes I was ashamed of. If everyone dressed the same, you couldn’t tell who was rich or poor, or in this gang or that. The students wouldn't be thinking about what they’re or other people are wearing and maybe learn something.. Many other countries require uniforms. There is a real problem with American schools, kids aren’t learning. If we keep going like this we’ll find our selves a third would country. Besides I think catholic school uniforms are hot. Like that Arrowsmith video with Liv Tyler.

9. stagewhisper (652) | 1 month ago | I could understand a dress code for kids anywhere up to high school. But college is the point in time where you are expected to learn about yourself and start making all of your own decisions- and that includes what you wear during the day. Besides, what if you're going to college for a job that won't require anything fancier than jeans and a t-shirt, which you happen to wear all the time now? It'd be pretty pointless buying suits and outfits for just that, wouldn't it? Now, if you're in a group like the choir or the band, then I can totally understand wearing a uniform while you're performing. But aside from that, if you're in university, you shouldn't need a higher authority telling you what pants to wear with what shirt anymore.
