What do you miss the most after moving away from your parents' place?

I've been away in my mom's place for 11 yrs. now & there are still times that I miss my mom, she's the best cook I've ever known so imagine how she cooks our food before, I love it! My dad passed away 15 years ago so basically we grew up with mom.... Home sweet home still..we visit my mom once or twice a month only, I live more than 1 hour drive from my mom's place. Whenever we visit her, she cooks for us esp. for the kids.

Yeah, same here. I moved few years back when I started to work outstation and then I've got married, I really miss mom's cooking. Frankly, it's the 'home' taste that were in our memories that outside food can't beat.

You are lucky that your parent's house is still in close travel distance, for me it'll take 4 hours just to and flow my parent's house. So, I forced myself to pick up some cooking skills so that we don't have to always eat out apart from saving money.

Hi! Welcome to myLot. In our culture we dont move out of our parents house unless we are getting married and having our own families. Some even dont move out at all thats why there are lots of extended families here. If I did move out, the thing that Im going to miss in our home is my room. Its my sanctuary. Im going to miss my bed most of all because I love to sleep and sleep is the only luxury that I cannot give up, along with food of course.^_^ I practically live in my room and its where most of my creative juices are flowing that I am able to cram for projects with just a few hours to spare.^_^

My parents have always helped me some way or the other.. If i get way from them, i will miss this helping hand...
First of all i would never leave my parents...But some day or the other if i have to leave my parents... then i would ofcourse miss their love..
Yes as you said, i would also miss my mothers cooking..., but then my wife would cook for me..

The golden days of childhood with parents' tender care and love is the thing i miss most,i have been staying outside of home for several years for the course of education,of course,i go back home at least one time a year,usually during the spring festival,enjoying the happy time with my parents.My parents are getting older, i think it's time to should responsibility to my family.Although they may be kinda outdated in some aspects, still they teach me some basic rules as a kind,tough man and are original source of power to move foward.

I been missing home cooked food. My family is blessed with good cooking skills, right from my grandma to my mom, I dont know if its passed on to me, since I hardly cook myself. Anyway, I really miss the weekend food. My mom used to go to the market early morning and buy fresh ingredients for breakfast, whilst lunch is underway. Normally we laze around outside the house and have barbeque/ grill foods in evening courtesy of either my brother or of course mom. The dishwashing is done by Dad so I dont really have much to be proud of. But these are one of the things I miss the most, not to mention that I can actually request my breakfast from mom and not just choose from the menu everyday with not much choice. Unfortunately I have to wait another couple of months to be home again.

I moved out many years ago but i missed going out into the garden and eating peas fresh from the pod ... and raw runner beans. My parents used to bring a big basket of fresh produce each time they came to stay until they had to move into a place without a garden. My mum still brings me tomatoes and strawberries from her greenhouse.

I have to agree, I miss my parents cooking the most. Although my dad is the cook in the family. When I still lived in the same town I would pop by for dinner at least once or twice a week. Since I've moved I've found myself trying to cook some of the same meals but they're never as good. My parents just came to visit last week and I asked them to make my favorite meals! It was a good week;)

haha..i miss my mother's cooking(i am too lazy to cook something decent)...and of cource my mother washing the dishes and doing loundry...:) well, those are just some very small thnig that i miss..the main thing is that i miss that life, miss being a teenager with few responsabilities and lots fo time to have fun
