1. Marley76 (100) | 3 months ago | This is a hard one. I love them both. I like the books. I read the Lord of the Rings when I was very young. Well my mom read them to me. I would have to say Lord of the rings. I think it is more for an adult audience and Harry Potter for an audience of children. Like I said I do love them both. I have to say I like the books a lot better then the movies. But I also like to read a lot.

As for these two movie serieses, they are both great,no matter in screenplay or in boxoffice. I usually prefer Lord of the Rings to Harry Potter because the novel of the former is really a literary tour de force of all time.

It told of a great epic struggle between good and evil, much more terrifying that the brand of evil Voldemort encompassed. I think LOTR is more appealing to adults while Harry is more appealing to kids. I enjoyed both movies and the books. LOTR is my all time favorite movie, it was deeper than Harry in so many ways. character development, relationships.

4. Amanda81587 (635) | 3 months ago | I would have to definitly say Harry Potter. I haven't seen Lord of the Rings or ever been interested in seeing it. I do remember reading a book The Hobit when I was in school but I have no clue if this even relates to Lord of the Rings. But I do love Harry Potter, I have read the books and watched the movies and I just can't get enough of it! I also think that Harry Potter is more of a family interest seeing as how it keeps kids interested depending on the age. Where as with Lord of the Rings I think you have to be a little older. But like I said I am not sure seeing as how I never seen Lord of the rings.

5. rifat1337 (1236) | 3 months ago | Lord of the Rings is one of my most favorite serieses. I definitely think it is well ahead of Harry Potter, in both the quality of the books and films. Nothing against harry potter, it just isn't my type while Lord of the Rings is.

| 6. memberx23 (19) | 3 months ago | Definitely Harry Potter. The book, story and characters are just much easier to relate to than that of The Lord of the Rings. I was truly sad after reading the last book.
