Maybe you were too young back then that you could not appreciate it or could not differentiate it from the cooking outside. Or maybe your mom just got better. I think mom's cooking is nice simply because when she cooks, you are sure what you are gonna get and you can eat more without paying more.:D

And she cooks less nowadays, as she's growing older (she's in 70s. My sister and I tried to learn from her, but the dishes we cooked were not as good as hers.

honestly i can discern if the food was cooked by my mom. and i really admire her. im actually copying the way she cooked. she always reminds me that cooking is one of the things i should master, so that i could express my love and care to my future family.

I guess that once I had to cook for myself, I realised how good I had it before!
