Do you keep your room tidy or untidy?

i beg to disagree...my room has a lot of clutters: it's chaos in there BUT i work effectively with that kind of environment. i know exactly where things are placed and i have no trouble locating them.

if someone cleans my room, i panic. seeing it tidy gives me a hard time concentrating. i know this may sound weird but that mess is my sanctuary.^_^

I agree. I keep my room tidy all the time. without being asked. Its just a habit. i hate having a messy room because it makes me feel dull and boared. but walking into a clean tidy room just gives you energy and happyness, but hey, thats my opinion:)

i dislike clutter and my daughters are the opposite, hubby and i are always on them to clean their rooms to no avail. one day they are going to lose something and wont be able to find it (and wont be happy!!)

Well I am the type of person who cannot concentrate when my room's not in proper order. I often get irritated in untidy rooms, feeling uncomfortable and uneasy. I always keep everything in order for some reasons. The first one is what I have mentioned. I cannot really concentrate well when everything's out of order. I feel that I need some order in my life, at least something that is pleasing to the eye especially when I cram. The second reason of mine is that I don't want other people to go over my things. That's why I always keep everything in order. I don't like other members of the family fixing and placing my things in order. Because it's very hard for me to find it later on. Finally, I want everything to be in order so that it wouldn't be embarassing to other people when they visit my room. It indeed reflects my personality. I am sometimes a perfectionist, that's why.

I really try to make my room clean but it won't still be that neat since I'm sharing it with my brother and but it really helps a lot if it's clean, it's nice to look at and feels really good. You don't have to worry about anything and especially about looking for important things that you might need that day..

on the other hand, I find myself on the opposite side of this discussion.
While it's true that a tidy room can get you more energy than an untidy room, but for me whenever my room is untidy, I usually find whatever I am looking for when I look for it. My teacher used to called this an "organized mess" where even if the room is untidy, ask me to find something and I will find it better than if I were to find it in a tidy room.

Not that i'm lazy or anything, I just like my room to be filled with clutter, but I clean it, it's a clean cluttered room if ever there was something like that. Enjoy the day!

Hehe, my room doesn't need cleaning.
I never mess up floor, but i hoover everyday anyway.
My bed is so high on ladder, its awkward to make so i dont bother.
and all clothes go in washing basket straight away anyway.

so overall mines tooooo tidy:) i cant really stand to see it messy when it goes like that at christmas and birthdays.

Yes surely a clean envoirnment does create positive energy in the system and one feels much more comfortable working in a clean enviornment. I do try to keep my room neat and tidy but the fact still remains that is does not comes practically true always. Somethimes when i am just too busy my room does look messed up and we both then try to get things in order. We try to keep things at the right places in the first instance so that we do not need to redo the same work. This helps save time and keep the room neat and clean.

Lately i haven't keep my room tidy maybe because i am too busy writing to meet deadlines. Books are every where . I still have to change my bed sheet. It's really untidy i must admit and i agree with you it is really much nicer if your room is clean because it invites good energies. I think i have to start general cleaning this weekend so that i will feel fresh and bring back some energies.

As a parent of two tiny tots I tend to scold them to put things back in place, when I was a kid I never used to scatter things, I could say I maintained my things well. I was very organised. I want my kids to be more like me.
