Crossing the Color Line

I cant. You had the guts to do something not always accepted in the world so I think that was your choice good or bad. My family is very close minded about such things and if I were to marry or be involved with a black person I would probably not introduce him to my immediate or extended family. It's a shame that we should have these prejudices in this day and age but soemtimes older family members do. It is quite common in my area of the country to see bi racial couples.

Wouldn't it be nice if we knew how things were going to turn out before we did them? I wouldn't have married the same man,either, although he is the same color as I am (white). But in a lot of ways he has made my life better, too, maybe better than it would have been if I had married someone else. I guess all we can do is love our spouse for whatever good he brings to us, and deal with the difficult things one day at a time.

No I cant relate, and I hope you dont take my comments the wrong way. If you are having negative feelings, which obviously you are, why not stand up and take control of whatever is causing them. Whether it be your family, his family, or society being regretful will never change the close mindedness that comes with crossing the color line. If you truly love your husband and kids, then dont be regretful, be happy, and let others know you are happy, and will not let them bring you down. Any family, and I mean any family, will impose their thoughts, ways, opinions and anthing else on you they can, if you allow it. Be happy, with the open minded person you are, you are truly a unique and special person.

I can't relate, BUT I wouldn't worry about what other people think. You can't help who you fall in love with. And to me bi-racial kids are absolutely gorgeous!! I wouldn't think that you made life difficult, if you are happy and have a great relationship with your husband, and your kids are happy, then nothing else matters. People that have a problem with it are narrow minded. Don't worry about them!
