working time: how is it in your area?  | |  In France the legal minimum working per week is 35 hours. But many people (as me) make 39 hours/weeks.
The difference is paid 1.25 x per hours until 44 hours, and 1.5 x above. Or you can convert those extra-hours in vacations.
We have 5 paid vacations weeks per years.

You can get in corporations maybe 2 weeks vacation an year. 5 sick days. 5 other days. 30 minutes lunch and 2 x 10 minutes breaks. You are lucky Jean! And Impossible!:) By the way are you in SL?

| | 3.  shooie (3536) | 6 months ago |  Here in the US a work week is 40 hour week and any over time in most places is time and a half which really makes it worth working the overtime. You aren't forced to work the overtime because there is always someone that is wanting the overtime. When I worked at the hospital in california before i moved here. I had built up to where i had 5 weeks of vacation per year. I left there with 1200 hours of unused sick time.
