 Last night I went out on the porch to smoke. It was after 9:30 so it was dark. I am talking on the phone and I look down and there is this huge huge snake on the porch. It was probably between 3-5 feet long. It looked black but I ran my butt in the house! I called my uncle upstairs and he tried to shoot it with a BB gun but he kept missing. Eventually it made it's way under the porch. I am a little freaked out cause my 2 year old daughter plays in the yard and I am afraid to let her outside now cause of the snake! It's the biggest snake I have ever seen in my life. It looked like a freakin' anaconda! lol.

1.  ocean4 (222) | 6 months ago |  I bet you somebody bought the snake and let it out. Something like that happened to me, except with a HUGE spider. I ran into my house and locked the door, dont ask why I locked the door.
:D
Anyway the snake wouldnt stay in one place like that for too long unless it made its nest there.
If you cant find a nest then you shouldnt worry about the snake. You should probobly tell some of your neighbours too.

 angelface23 (1880) | 6 months ago | we live in a pretty quiet neighborhood. I really don't think it's someone's pet. We have woods behind our house and there has been snakes in the past. A couple weeks ago a guy was putting mulch in and saw a big snake. It was probably the same one. | |

Please try to kill it for your child's sake and your mental health. I don't think a BB gun would have done any damage if it's as big as you say. You're probably going to have to enclose the entrance to the underside of the porch so it doesn't have a hiding place. They like to hide under those things.I would not rest until I knew it was dead or removed far far away. Good luck!!!!

| 5. dmcollie (177) | 6 months ago |  A BB gun will not kill it especially if its as big as you say it is. It might have been a garden or a wood snake. Next time take a shovel or pitch fork and cut off his head. But don't touch his head for at least an hour or so later. Make sure you enclose under your porch. because snakes like the dark and moist areas.
If you think its the same one you neighbor saw grab a couple of neighbors and shovels and go snake hunting to get rid of it from the neighbor hood.
My dad cut a head off once and my uncle picked the head up and through it at my dad and it latched its fangs into my dads upper arm. He barley made it thru the ordeal.

6.  metschica25 (4247) | 6 months ago |  Wow that sounds like one big snake . I dont thik it will stay around because they dont like people . Maybe someone lost their pet, but who knows . I know in May after the rain I saw a snake it was small though, but still wanted it out of my yard . I was worried for my dogs, but the next day it was gone .
