Is that a complex algorithm with purpose to determine the relevancy of your response?
Sometimes it doesn't appear at all, perhaps that means that you had posted some simple pointless comment.

Nothing complex about it. It might have something to do with the number of times you post in that subject, but I know for sure that you get rated when people click on the + or - after your discussion or comment. (Warning: if you rate others too often using the minus sign, you can get thrown out of myLot!) Usually, people click on the plus sign, or they forget or choose not to rate people at all.
