i quit  | |  i quit smoking almost a year ago, july 21st was the last day i had a smoke...i strated smoking at the young age of 11 and i quit at the age i am now 42..
i still have a day here and there even after a year that i think i wouldnt mind one, but that last for 5 seconds then its gone but i feel soooo much healthier giving it up, i walk every day and i know the difference from when i smoked to today from not smoking and it feels soooooooo great..so i hope all that have given it stand by it and dont go back its worth it at the end of it all....

i got ill and i didnt touch a smoke and when i got better again i tried sooo hard to not touch one..i have a whole family that smoke and boy was it hard but i kept to my feeling to get fit and try something new .
so to help me i started walking:) i walked and walked, its no way easy to quit but i do say one thing you have to want to quit and really mean it..
so my advice sweetie is when you do quit take up some thing that will preoccupy your mind..
i some times will be sitting down with my friends in a coffee shop or they pop in for a cuppa and i just go to grab a smoke that still happenes but in time i will forget it all together..
hun i know if you do want to quit then you will, its not as easy as some people make out it is, so thats why i say if your heart wants to quit and your dead set in your mind then YOU GO FOR IT and i will be here if you need to chat any time...

On the 23rd day of January 1997, i returned to work from the doctors, handed a half full packet of Peter Jackson cigarettes to a workmate and told him I would no longer be needing them, and i was right.
Once before I had quit for 11 months, but went away with 2 mates for a boys weekend, both were chain smokers.
By the time we got to our destination 5 hrs later, I was really in need of a beer, AND a cigarette, so I purchased a packet.
Needless to say I was very angry and remorseful the next morning, yet continued somking for another 2 years. My first attempt lasted 3 months, I was sick for a couple of weeks and thought it may help to give up, but never really expected to.
Stopping really isn't that difficult, its wanting to stop that creates the problem, being strong willed will get you there.
