Here in the Philippines, is really hard to look for a job. I am already 39. Even i am qualified for the position, i am still not accepted just because of my age.
I am now trying my best to look for a job that will help us financially. I am doing business now but the income is not good and i need a job badly. I was trying to apply but after passing all the examinations, they will not hire me.
The funny thing is they will allow me to get the exam but after passing which they told me that i really pass, they will just say that i will wait for a call.
HOw about in your country? Is it also hard to look for a job if you are already more than 30 years old?

In my country, job market is really limited. To really obtain a dream job, we need a huge luggage of qualifications and experience. It is quite difficult to secure a good position at start and even more difficult to promote up to the hierarchy. Well it depends on the company. But in my country, there are mostly little private companies which is not a safe way to make a career in life. To be really successful, I think we must either join a public organisation or a big private company which forms part of a big group.

hi there malouisa! im also from manila, philippines and i agree with what you've said here.,it is really hard to find a good job here.,especially if you don't have much experience or your not a degree holder.,well lets face it. we have a long process when applying for a job. after a long interview you will need to take an exam which will take you i guess an hour to finish it.,sshheesshhh!!! angry then here's the HR team telling you to wait for their call., duh! why don't you just tell us that we didn't pass so that we are not hoping for anything and find another one.,is it really their tactics to said that words in order for an applicant not to get hurt ., duh! blush

kamusta? also from manila, well, quezon city, but it's close enough...
anyway, i've been employed 2 months after i got out of vocational school.

technically, i'm not a degree holder but i guess i got lucky.

i'm not really sure if it is hard or not to get a job here seeing as i have been employed in the same company for four years. i guess if you really want a high(er than average) paying job without having a bachelor's degree, you could try out for the handful of call centers scattered around ortigas, makati or eastwood. all it really requires is a good grasp of english and the ability to use it effectively in conversing with people from other english-speaking nations.

regarding HR offices asking to wait for their call, i think it's standard business process anywhere. i don't really know why that is as well...
