I stopped smoking on Dec 20th 2007  | |  I am well chuffed that I have been a non smoker for approx 7 months with no relapses.
My main problem area was when I was out and about drinking. there was this strong psychological tie between having a pint in my hand and having a smoke.
To get around that I bought some nicotine chewing gum. Which I would chew when getting tipsy. And it has all worked fine.
I hardly ever use them now but still have them in case as whatever happens I dotn want to go back to that disgusting addiction.
How did you get over your hurdles and what were they whilst giving up?

Do you reckon this smoking ban helped you in a way.I know i smoke a lot less when i go out,nit just cos its banned cos we can go outside,i just dont go,funny that eh.i tried it years back,had daft zyban one time & another was gum,failed both times,now i dont even know if i want to stop,like in my house its coffee & cigarette,so maybe if i stopped drinking coffee. Hmmmm but ya gota have will power!

Mind you alot of my pals still smoke so I aint a crazy anti smoking nut
In fact I aint an anti anything nut
fast running powder, coke etc etc if thats your thank then go for it

Excercide certainly does seem to help alot and eating fruit stops the pounds creeping on
