2. wendhieRN (479) | 3 months ago | I am the eldest among us four children who works two jobs at the same time since both of our parents died. I happened to be so stressed doing all the households and all the income generating stuff to fulfill the obligations i was left with. stress has been together with my everyday life in which i always want to get rid of. good thing now that i can get over with it. Here are the effects of stress in woman's health (based on personal and professional experience) 1. it may cause an elevation in the blood pressure. of all the causes of hypertention, only stress esp. psychological stress has been found to be unmodifiable. 2. for woman, it can alter the menstrual cycle. sometimes monthly period doesn't occur or if it does the amount becomes scanty (called amenorrhea), sometimes it takes place more frequent or at an earlier time unexpectedly with profuse amount of bleeding (called metrorrhagia, menorrhagia) 3. it can alter our blood sugar level. the more stress (physical or mental) we encounter the faster the metabolism including the breakdown of glucose causing abrupt effects like hypoglycemia. 4. stress can also lower down our resistance or our immune system making us immuno-compromised to opportunistic disease and illness. 5. it can also lead to sleep pattern disturbance, insomnia or narcolepsy - both of which have untoward effects on how a person think. 6. nutrition problem like malnutrition, eating disorder such that of anorexia and bulimia. 7. it also affects our relationship with friends, families and colleagues because stress makes a person short tempered. On the other hand, here are some ways to cope it up. 1. First, find out what causes your stress. If so possible, try desensitization or facing the problem gradually to make your system cope up. 2. Condition your mind that if there is a problem, there comes a solution for it. It may not come all of a sudden but eventually it will get solved. 3. Eat a balanced meal - a mind fed well helps a person think better. 4. Get vitamins supplements. 5. Have an outlet to talk to. Share your problem to others, who knows they know a better solution. 6. Take time to relax and unwind. Divert yourself once in a while. 7. Smile more frequently. Laughter is said to be the best medicine. 8. Lastly and most importantly - Pray. GOD will surely do the comfort. So, hope these might help you. Thanks 4 posting a nice topic! GOD BLESS!

You would lose appetite, wont be able to sleep, be irritable and your relationship with your love ones will be affected too. It happened to me last year. I just stayed inside the bedroom for days and I didnt like to speak with anybody. When I was finally okay, I have informed the school wherein i teach right now, that i won't be coming for a week. After a week and everything was okay, that's the only time I got back to work.
