Which is safer, boat or plane travel?

in my opinion i thinks air plane and boat is both dangerous to use to travel may be your walk at hole day with you like to travel this is safe? when you are travel when there no using any vehicles only walk i know is hard but is safe? if you around the world don't walk because you cannot walk in the sea? you know my point but if you like safe when you are passenger in air plane use the parachute in air plane in boat use the vest, good day and happy postings?

I guess that it's according whether you can fly or swim as to which is safer.

I believe that train travel is some of the safest travel you can have. It's true there are ocassional plane crashes but you are much less safe in a passenger car than in a plane. Boats are not really that safe there are people than drown every year in boat crashes or there boat goes over a dam or something. Trains are pretty safe but you can still be killed if they derail. I would like to see the statiistics on the safest modes of travel.

For me it's a matter of luck. true boats are relatively safer in terms of location but the travel time also increases the risk. the more you are on the water the greater chance of getting into boat trouble. While in airplanes though the chances of survival in terms of crushes/engine trouble is almost nil but the travel time is faster therefore the risk is also lowered significantly. Actually it's the matter of the right time, right place and the right person. "elements of death" so they're called. When it's your time it's your time.

I agree with you. So glad that I found someone on my side. My friends and I used to argue on this. I took the side of travelling by sea is safer for the reason that the fuel planes use, in my opinion, catch fire quickly than those used in the boat plus if there's a small hole on the plane the pressure would change or the oxygen level up there may be different than oxygen level at sea level. I wasn't thinking of parachutes though but in the absence of parachutes, passengers cannot fly because people aren't born with wings but if they were boat passengers, without the life vests, people can still manage to float or swim to safer areas.

It depends upon where you are leaving from and where you are going. Accidents can happen anywhere, even crossing the street once you get to your destination. By boat, do you mean a cruise? Not many boats go from point A to point B. They usually have a return cruise rather than you going to a destination to visit or stay.
Airplanes will take you from Point A to Point B and return. The safety is as good as possible, but the time to get to the check in and then on to the plane and the hours to get to your destination, and then from airport to where ever you are going, takes loads of time. Weather doesn't play into a plane trip right now, because most of the terrible weather is gone. But check your weather conditions before making a decision on the destination website.
As to safety .... both have good and bad things about them. It really is up to you, because again, the boat trip isn't a consideration as to getting somewhere; how about a train, such as in California, the Am track system.
Safety....focus on how much fun you will have when you get to where you are going. Don't let fear keep you from doing anything especially seeing the country.
