Do you believe in long distance relationships?

I think long distance relationships can be successful only if at some point in the relationship they become less of a long distance. You don't know about the dirty socks on the floor by the bed if you only have contact through the phone or internet. A visit here and there will pick up those socks temporarily but you'll never get a true glimpse of the real person if you don't put a large amount of time into the here and now rather than the long distance. Congrats it all worked out for you!

A sort of personal sharing..
At first I thought having a commitment from someone so distant is silly. So embarrassing that I myself had given up my relationship with my ex-BF simply because he was offered a work in an Airline company (Qatar Airways) based in Qatar and I never wished surviving a long distance relationship. He is an airport steward that is why accepting the job is sort of a career leap for him. I initiated the break up, we separated ways. Now I am happily married with someone who loves me the way I never felt before. Fortunately, I met a man like my husband. But if I was only deceived by pretension then I will forever regret that I did not take the courage to fight for the relationship I was once in.
Few years have passed here came an invitation from a long lost friend to attend his wedding. I was surprised because I know his fiance and they have waited 4 long years distantly from one another (the girl worked in the US, the guy works here) now making their wedding a dream come true. My friend has spoken, we were meant to be and it is worth the wait!
And so I do believe, if some people are meant to be, then fate will dictate as to which path leads to make them cross again. Some things are just meant to happen!
Love distance relationship works if both the couple trust each other. It is just a matter of love, honesty, respect, loyalty, trust and patience.
