If a married woman has no kids, does that make her less of a woman?

no dear it is not true giving birth is not the only job of a wife..if she does have a medical problem then best is to consult a doctor and get a through check up done sometimes it is just a small harmonal imbalance ..pls tell her dont get disheartened...and she needs to talk to her husband he should be a little more caring towards her so that she does not feel inferior..take care of her and advise her wisely..

I dont think it makes her less of a woman, has she been to see a doctor. Has her husband been to see a doctor, it might be him. There is no shame in not being able to have kids and if they are serious, they can always adopt. There are millions of kids living in orphanages that would love a good caring home. but if having there own kids is important, they should both get checked by a doctor.

Not a bit. My best friend has no children of her own and that makes her no less of a woman than I am with four. She can have children but knows that it just is not really in the cards for her so she has never tried to have them and has always taken steps to prevent pregnancy. She has a very demanding career that she worked very hard for and her husband, who has children from another woman (who isn't mother of the year by any measure),loves her no less for not having children with him.

If you can't have children that doesn't make you any less of a woman by not being someones biological mother. There are too many roles that are important in the lives of women in general to just judge them on one.

No, it does not make her less of a woman. But I can understand why she feels that way. As women, when we have trouble conceiving, we tend to blame ourselves, even though the problem just as often lies with the man. Have they been through fertility testing or treatments? Both she and her husband should be checked so they can find the cause of the problem and have the best chance to conceive.

I am on my second marriage and I am childless. Both my husbands had children from their previous marriages so at least they became parents... I sadly had trouble conceiving and when I finally did with the help of doctors - I didn't know I was pregnant until my fallopian tube started to burst. I was rushed into hospital, the baby had grown inside the fallopian tube and had to be removed along with the tube. Leaving me with only 1 tube which had to have surgery on it to unbend the end to allow eggs to pass through and even a lesser chance of getting pregnant. I eventually had to have a complete hysterectomy and so I didn't get to be a mother either. I was devastated as I always wanted a huge family like The Waltons on the tv programme. Instead I have had to live through my life childless and never being called mum. I didn't and don't feel less of a woman because of this and I don't think it makes me a poor wife - on the contrary I think it allows me to focus more on my wifely obligations. It gives me freedom that mothers don't have and I get my maternal pleasure from other peoples children when I babysit or have my friends and their youngsters around.

Tell your friend to speak to her doctor and push for investigative procedures to find out why she hasn't conceived yet. Above all tell her not to focus on it as worry can prevent conception as well as being over-weight and countless other things. Your friend really needs to see someone who can alleviate her worries and fears.

Hardly. A woman's job isn't just to be a brood mare. There are many women who are childless by choice or women who have children and don't want them. If she wants kids, she should consider going to a fertility specialist and getting both herself and her husband checked out. Sometimes, it's not just the woman's fault that she's not getting pregnant.

I'm assuming her husband doesn't feel the same way, or he wouldn't have stayed with her for so long. I hope she finds an answer.

of course not. a woman should be of substance to be referred to as a woman. so kids are definitely not the sole parameter to judge a woman. but we all think that a woman without kids is complete. it is motherhood which brings out the ultimate from her within. though labour pain is a pain, yet it is the commencement of a whole new era of happiness. so definitely she is desiring for kids. please have a seminal analysis of the husband followed by hysteroscopy of your friend. i think these tests should suffice. may god bless them with a cute kid. all the best to them. happy my lotting.

NO,NO,NO. I know woman who had kids because that's what married woman do, woman who had kids as a way to get a husband, had kids because all her girlfriend where having them. Some of them turned out OK but I am sad to say some were the worst mothers in the world. I am the mother of three kids. One of my daughters decided when she was very young that she did not want children. At first I was upset but then I realized that if this is what she wants then I have to except it. She married a man with the same feelings. Is my daughter less a woman? Hell no. Not all woman want to be mothers but because society says she must many woman have children and are not aways happy. In today's world between over crowding and failing food supply's not all woman need to have children. Please tell your friend not having kids does not make her less a woman and any one that says that is a low life. Maybe they are sorry they had kids and wish they were her. As for feeling inferior has she been checked? Many, many times it the husbands fault. If her home is clean, good meals on the table his cloths are clean then she is a good wife. Hell, having kids puts an end to many marriages.

good day... I think that shouldn't be. I love my fiancee and if by chance we won't have children and she can't give one I will not look at her as a lesser woman. She's the woman I love whether or not she'll be the mother of my children. I can't imagine my life without her.

Ten years may be a very long time for her to wait for her son/daughter to come up, so it is understandable if she feels that way.

But in my opinion, -- perhaps has been spoken by the others -- that giving birth is not the only thing a wife should do. Perhaps they have already done check up examination and everything related to it, so another step that they can do is to adopt a son/daughter.

Besides, the ultimate key in marriage -- again in my own perspective -- is to settle two lifes together. If both can share love and feelings, I think they have done the main part. If son/daughter -- as a result of two bodies and loved sharing everything together -- is not pressent because of unwilling or uncertain condition, they don't need to leave each other.
