Public Display? |
|
Recently I was in a convience store and the couple in front of me couldn't seem to keep their hands off of each other and for some reason it appeared that they had magnets on their faces because their lips kept touching...lol. Me, I'm more of the kind of person that feels like this type of what I call extreme physical contact should be left in the privacy of your home. I mean don't get me wrong, I see nothing wrong with holding hands or an occasional peck in public. But when you are in a store for 5 minutes and you have touched your partner 20 times and french kissed them 10 times, that is just a bit overboard in my opinion and I find it quite annoying. I feel like saying "get a room or go home"! Does this bother you? Or is it just a pet peeve of mine?

| hannie5 (6) | 3 months ago | I totally agree with you. It is a little gross in my opinion. There is no need to go overboard in public. To me it's just being a showoff. You can love someone intimately in more appropriate places like your own home, a hotel room etc. But to have to be all over one another in public is just wrong! I agree that they should get a room.

2. ravusri1 (661) | 3 months ago | At times it is uncomfortable to have such people in public. I think there is better place to share their love (Park, Beach, Room, House etc.,) Not necessary that you should others that you are the perfect pair....

3. dragonfly242 (855) | 3 months ago | While i dont mind people showing affection in public, it does sort of bother me when they go overboard. I dont think there's anything wrong with couples holding hands and kissing, it's only when they start fondling that i think they should take it somewhere more private.

relundad (1047) | 3 months ago | Its only the overboard cases that bother me. I just think that there is a time and place for everything. And I just don't think that the counter at the convience store is the place to make out! Pay for your stuff and get out...

4. kareng (3091) | 3 months ago | I feel the same way you do. It is disturbing and everyone doesn't want to see that. Imagine the influence it has on young kids, especially pre-teens who may look up to that kind of behavior thinking it is cool. Public display is rude. I think if people started saying something to these individuals, they may rethink the matter. And then again maybe not. Worth a try!!

relundad (1047) | 3 months ago | Glad to hear that I am not the only one that thinks there is a time and place for everything. My kid was with me at the time and he looked at me like "is this supposed to be happening?"

kareng (3091) | 3 months ago | That would have been a good opening to tell him no, these people are a little strange (said in a LOUD) voice and most people do not behave like this in public. It is rude and uncalled for. grinn

7. CraftyCorner (2280) | 3 months ago | Sounds like you had an encounter with industrial strength tacky. * I faced that when I went to junior high and high school, as the kids couldn't get rooms or move out, so they used the halls as make out central. It got so bad that schools started placing 'no contact' rules in the books.

| sweethopia (59) | 3 months ago | My partner and I were the same way. We have been together for 12 years. When the relationship was just starting we were all over each other ALL the time. I remember one time we were at a mall and we had just gotten back together after not being with each other for a couple of weeks and we were just kissing on the escalators and stuff and people looked at us funny. But I was young then so... ...now we don't kiss or hug in public. Maybe just a peck on the cheek:)

9. jenalforque (110) | 3 months ago | I agree. Maybe they love each other so much that they can't help to show affection for each other whether public or private. There's a proper place for everything.

10. littlepinoy (322) | 3 months ago | It could feel a little awkward for me. They're in front of you and you have no way of looking somewhere else. If you continue looking forward, you can see them and people might think you're turned on with the scene. If you look around to avoid the scene, people will think you're disgusted. I just wish they have the courtesy to do it in the privacy of their homes or at least, not directly in front of someone else.
