Can Anyone Please Tell Me? Liquid BandAid |
|
Have any of you had experience with liquid bandaid? How long does it take to come out of hair? It's been 4 days now and it isn't coming out of my daughters hair. Does it just wear off? I've tried and I"m afraid she's going to re-invent the Tina Turner look pretty soon. Have you or your children ever had liquid bandaid? Was it in your hair? How long does it take before it just peels off?

1. nova1945 (824) | 1 month ago | I have tried that, but not on a kid, on a dog. He had a surgical incision on his head that wasn't healing and the flies kept getting to it so I was hoping to seal it well enough to keep them out. It didn't work ver well because he kept scratching the scab and opening it back up. Anyway the liquid seemed to come off really easily (too easy) especially when it got wet. If you can shanpoo your daughter's hair it might come right out. Good luck.

ljegbers (5645) | 1 month ago | Yes I did but this was done at a hospital, not your over the counter stuff. Must be a big difference in formula?

nova1945 (824) | 1 month ago | Oh gosh, there must be. Mine was just the over the counter stuff. No wonder it didn't work that well.

lilybug (7649) | 1 month ago | The Active ingredient in BAND-AID® Brand Liquid Bandage™ is 2 octylcyanoacrylate, the same technology found in hospital-only product Dermabond® Topical Skin Adhesive which is used as an alternative to sutures for wound closure. 2 octylcyanoacrylate is basically super glue, so what ever will get super glue out of her hair. I read online to use nail polish remover with acetone in it, but since it is near a cut it might not be a good thing.

nova1945 (824) | 1 month ago | You know, that reminds me, when my daughter worked for a vet she said that when they declawed a cat (which is basically an amputation at the first knuckle) they used super glue to close the wound. It makes more sense now.

2. m0rnings (387) | 1 month ago | Haha, don't worry about it:] it comes out. But remember, its an adhesive, so it cant be expected to come out of hair too easily. If it bothers you ( or your daughter, actually) that much, just cut the hair out that its stuck in as long as its not too much. Other than that, just wash it every day with shampoo and it comes out, trust me. Been there, done that LOL. It'll be okay, it just takes a little while.

ljegbers (5645) | 1 month ago | Thank you for your indepth response. Yes, she has a lot in her hair. She's sensative when her head is touched so it got everywhere. So bottom line is, this isn't going to just wear off, I'm going to have to clean it out of her hair. Great! Thank you, but I'm sitting here groaning at your response.

4. Savvynlady (1971) | 1 month ago | I have used it on cuts that were opened, and I would spray some on the cut, and it healed very well. It takes a couple of days, but it comes off once the scar begins to heal. So don't think it's a permanent move. just a temporary one.

ljegbers (5645) | 1 month ago | I've seen over the counter stuff, but never tried it. This isn't that. From what others are telling, what was used on her is about as strong as super glue.

5. Transdisc (13877) | 1 month ago | I'm sorry to hear that your daughter is having such troubles with the Liquid BandAid, LJ.:( I have only used Liquid BandAid once, and I had no luck with it so I didn't try it again. I wish that I had some advice that was helpful, but I did want you to know that I am sorry for such irritations for your and your daughter.

ljegbers (5645) | 1 month ago | I'm beginning to understand that over the counter isn't as powerful as what they used in ER. I've had supper glued on my fingers before when I fixed a cup or a plate, it wore off in time, but this is her hair.
