The Haves and the Have Nots .  | |  The other day I was going through a newspaper which quoted the President of USA as saying that massive increase in the consumption of food grains in China and India has led the " temporary shortage of cereals " all over the North America and Europe including the USA . I liked the great humour sense of Mr. President . But why did he spare Africa is still a mystery to me .
Mr. Bush READ THIS . According to an international organization report, fund required for feeding starving people of the whole African continent is equal to what Americans spend yearly on ice creams alone .

I personally watched a TV programme which shows an obese American man over eating and finally ending up dead. China is practising one child policy and India pays citizens who sterilized themselves. What a lame excuse to blame Chinese and Indians on food shortage problem.

One thing I would also add is that recently, the US has dramatically increased the production of ethanol for burning as fuel for cars. As a replacement for gasoline. The ethanol is made from the fermentation of food, mainly corn, and other cereals. The US demand for ethanol has reached the point where it not only uses vast areas of its own agricultural land to produce the corn, but also has to import more grain to keep up the production level for ethanol. Unlike the examples that Mr. Bush gave, the US demand for ethanol made from food IS leading to global grain shortages.
Recently, a top official with the UN International Food Program, referred to the use of food to fuel our cars as a "crime against humanity".
