Only two days to go for vote |
|
Now when only two days are left for the vote that would decide the fate of the present government, and almost all the parties (except only a few keeping all on tenterhooks) have announced their intentions, what do think would happen? Will it be the end of the road for Manmohan government and the n-deal or will it scamper through? If this goverment falls, will there be general elections or will there be a government for a few months (as discussed by some with Mayawati as prime minister)?

1. karmendra (643) | 3 months ago | i think it is very bad for our country. next year election is going to be done. this crises is occur due to 123 agreement of Nuclear deal but now i seams that all parties are forgot that matter, they only concentrate on the political drama. what do you think,, and media is also not a responsible for that.. they should clarify the advantages and disadvantages of that deal to common people in their general language.

2. indianpedi (1163) | 3 months ago | The Left Parties and the Opposition are not totally wrong in saying that the Indo-US nuclear deal is heavily loaded in favour of the US and other Uranium-supplier countries. Besides, the fine print in the deal shows that India will not achieve parity with the 'Nuclear Club nations' viz USA, Russia, China, UK and France. Also, the doors for MNCs to enter India will be thrown wide open, with the deal. The Economic Times, which is so pro-Govt, itself admits all this. I think extraneous factors and not nationalism or India's interests, are being served by this deal (a lot of economic activity will be facilitated for construction of new nuclear plants, so Big Business on both sides of the Ocean is in favour of the deal!) Our PM looks at the world through his Economic glasses (he being an Economist) and he can't see beyond economic progress, I think. The Left and Opposition parties are correct in their interpretation that India can afford to wait. We have Thorium and this technology will be developed indigineously, maybe after 20 years. So what's the hurry? Why lose our strategic independence? Can't we live with some power cuts and other problems for some more years... after all, we have been living in adverse conditions for centuries!

jasbir_pro (156) | 3 months ago | What I can't understand is how our independence is threatened by it. Sanctions regarding nuclear stuff are already in place. By this agreement and allowing only the civil installations for inspection, those sanctions would be lifted. In future, if India feels that its interests are in jeopardy, it can do whatever it thinks fit and the most other nations can do is place the sanctions which at this time already are in place.

3. josechukkiri (809) | 3 months ago | Our veteran leaders like Hon. A.P.J Abdul Kalaam,Dr. Manmohan Singh and many other leaders are not blindly supporting this Nuk-Deal Pact. They foresee the tremendous progress that our country could be achieved because of this deal. This is not the old Nuclear Proliferation Treaty. The left parties are showing the traditional anti USA stand to stall the progress of the country. There is a small film in the Malayalam language titled "Arabia" which narrates the blind 'pro-china' attitude of the left parties in India. Now India is running in a good way under the guidance of Dr. Manmohan Singh, bearing its massive population.
