I've heard that they can dry out your hair. I used to use my flat iron alot, but it started making my hair weak. The newer cermanic straighners are supposed to be much better with preventing damage. They dont make hair as brittle and they make it shiny too!! She should be fine if she deep conditions it every so often.

yeah well everything has effects these days like your daughter i uses a flat iron almost everydayday but what i could sugest is tell her to but here hair up one day and strighten it the next just to give her hair a one day breather. thats what i do just cause i have done so much to my hair.

I have been using a flat iron on my hair almost everyday for school for 5 years. It hurts your hair by basically frying it flat. But it doesnt cause any damage that cant be fixed. You can fix it by getting your hair cut. But, some straighteners are so powerful they fry your hair the first time you use it, usually the chi straighteners.
