the Pen

With technology advancing as fast as jet planes, i was wondering if there will come a day when the Pen as we know it will become extinct.
Just look around you. Non-verbal communication is now normally done by SMS (or texting, to put it simply) or e-mail. When you say "pen" it usually refers to the stylus used for clicking things on an iPhone. Even the word "notebook" now referes to the annorexic laptop. There's this thing call the "word Processor" where writers and ordinary people type away their ideas.
Even writing checks is obsolete (the "plastic" or credit/debit card is more in). And what about the lowly pen or pencil? What will become of them?
