some people are afraid to commit for some reasons. maybe their past relationship did not end up well or did not run as what they expect it to be. people tend to expect more in a relationship which for me is not good. others are afraid to commit because they think they cannot take it when its over. fear of getting hurt and intimacy may also be one of the causes.

But as of now that you are enjoying your relationship, I mean you will still encounter a lot of rocky roads as you say, and hopefully when you get there you are both working to make it better. It'sgood to know that your friendship made it stronger, keep it that way. Hopefully your first boyfriend would be the man you end up with to marry you and have kids.
