Woman is enemy to women in India.

I don't think the sole purpose is to
have the earnings exclusive by the wife.
A wife wants to live in other house because
she wants freedom. Dominate may be the wrong
thing to say. Maybe to other woman it's true.

I'm far from an expert on Indian culture, but I certainly don't blame women for not wanting to live with their mothers-in-law. I'd probably never get married if I were under another person's thumb. I really can't imagine women wanting to move away from their husband's family to monopolize his earnings. I'd assume that they want to move out so that they're able to be independent and free of the classic evil mother-in-law.

And, even if they did want to spend the family income on their family, I don't see anything wrong with that. I don't understand supporting someone else or paying for someone else's novelties and luxuries while being forced to obey someone you're not related to and live like a pauper in the same house. I had a friend that ended up leaving her husband and moving to the US with her children because of that situation. Her husband figured out why she did it and is now over here with her.

I think it's excellent that women are beginning to see themselves as people and beginning to break traditions in order to lead happy, fulfilled lives.

Of course, that's coming from someone who's never lived in a society where women are even marginally oppressed by culture, tradition, or religion.
