Our phone is working again!

Wonderful! Actually, I am suffering from a proble, something like that you talked but the defference is that I still can not work it out. That is, every time when I begin to surf online the problem as you mentioned will happen on my telephone and after I shut off my computer, it will disappear. I think it is because a conflict always happen between the signals of the net and the phone so i have got used to using the mobile phone instead of the fixed phone

Isn't it funny how it takes another person to get a problem fixed?

When I read what you said about getting some one else to look at your problem, it reminded me of a problem I had with a phone.

When people tried to call me at home most of the time, they would get a ringing tone, I would get nothing. So people would think that I was not at home. It got to the stage that I decided to change phones. The second phone that I used, I knew that it worked in another house. The problem still exsisted.

I called the technician from the phone company to look at the line or the cables in the telephone exchange. The told me that they would send some one out to look at my phone. I told them that the problem was not the phone. They asked how did I know. I explained that I changed the phone over to one that I knew worked and the same problem is still there. Certainly you can't have the same problem with 2 different phones.

After a couple of days, they came back to me saying again that it was a fault in the phone and they will send some one out. I ended up saying no, I wanted a new number so people can contact me.

While in the process of giving me a new telephone number, they found the fault and fixed it. They asked if I wanted the keep the same number. I said no. I wanted a new number because there new features that I wanted to use which I couldn't with the old number.

I then asked them what the fault was. They told me that there was a loose connection in the telephone exchange. I told the technician that they should have listened to me because I knew roughly where the problem was. But at least the next person who got the phone number would not have to put up with the same problem as I had.

Only if they listened to me in the first place they would not have wasted so much time. They also would not have been embarressed by allowing a female who does not work for the phone company to tell male techician where the fault was.

It comes in handy when working on a telephone switchboard. Some of the duties that was required of me was fault finding. I had to decide whether to replace the phone or to call out technicians to solve the problem in the line.

So there are times where it takes another person who is not from their own company to find a problem. Good on you and happy mylotting.

Thank heaven for that, I will be puling my hair if I can't gent on to my lot for a few hours let alone few days, these people why do they take long to do anything, anyway welcome back and keep Mylotting.

That is great. That is odd that they claim to tell you nothing is wrong with the phones when they could have easily checked and realized the cables were a problem.

I guess they try to save that trip so they don't need to pay for it unless customer insists and call someone to come out and get it done.

Welcome back! Its good to hear that they finally came out and fixed it for you. I always hate having to get phone companies out because half the time they try to blame it on you not their own stuff.

Ours went like this recently, it was a pain because I could not make any phone calls or anything and it was interfering with the internet a lot too. Luckily it just turned out to be the connection box and we were able to fix it ourselves.

It's good to hear that you got your problem resolved. I was useing veizon a few months ago but endedup changeing services because I had the same problem as you were but mine was constant and verizon said it was fixed when it wasn't. I am now with comcast and much happier better service and no static

That sure can be a pain in the bum if you need to make a phone call, and just wanna chat it up . Thankfully, we have 2 lines one for the computer and one for the phone . On a stormy day our phone line always breaks up, and static . I work from online so it is so hard when something like that happenes.

Good thing you got it fixed. I guess you meant that your cable connection was not working. Where you using dsl or cable? Sometimes the cable wears out after some time and you have to watch to see if none of the cables get twisted or broken. That happened to us, but it was the one to the keyboard of our computer. I cannot understand why that kept you from myLotting though.

I am happy for you!! We had trouble with the internet and it took someone coming out 3 times before I finally got someone to actually fix it.
