Life Is Short

I think time seems to go faster as we get older.. and things were always better 'in the old days'
I am very aware of the health problems within my family history which I could be genetically predisposed to and,although I have never smoked or taken drugs and have never been a heavy drinker, there are things I could/should have done to minimise those risks. I have recently started working in a hospital and it has really made me aware of my own mortality. In one way it has made me grateful that I am in reasonably good health but, in other ways it makes me dissatisfied that I have not lived my life to the full as I would have liked - partly my own fault of course - and it sort of scares me that I've 'wasted' so much time.
Sorry, not very uplifting comments... I am not miserable - just having a reflective/pensive moment

Life is definitely short. it even becomes shorter as time goes by.

Let's make the most of our lives while we're still here so that we won't have any regrets at all.

When you see old people still looking young,you must ask questions. They must have been very active while they were young and not involving themselves in drugs nor too much of thought of probnlems of life.

You are speaking wise words about life and growing old, momiecat. Alas, you describe what most of us do: when we're young, we don't think that far ahead. Once we're older, we begin to suffer the results of our mistakes that we made earlier in our lives.

It's like my mom said not too long ago, "If I'd have known I was gonna live this long, I would have taken better care of myself." Wiser words were never spoken.
