Are you writing your first book?

I'm writing several stories/books at once, depending on when I get a chance or an urge to write for them. I know you shouldn't write purely on inspiration, but considering how much work I have otherwise, it's the best I can do, at least until summer dies off. I hope your editor works out! Maybe you should look for an agent, or just research for publishers who accept brand new authors? I recommend Writer's Market to check things out.

Wow, black erotica...can i have a copy of the book? pretty please? I promise no copyright infringement of sorts. I'm not that kind of guy. What I'm trying to do is a genre of political satire, like that favorite author of mine. And I'm trying to do not a book but rather a concept story for a game I will make later this year.

Well, I never had a book before, but then I had an article which I wrote. Well, I don't know but for some reason the editor liked it, and I am out of our school org since I graduated. So when I saw my article printed on the school organ, I was like, heck this is not just edited, it's like brand new. Of course I can't complain, because as a matter of fact the article is even better! Well, if it's for the better let the editor murder your work, but not to the extent that the essence of the original writing is gone. But anyways, just an excerpt pls? I never read a book of that genre and since it's your first book I want to give it a try.

Black erotica? I've never heard of that, lol. I've been thinking about writing a book, but I haven't figured out what subject I want to write. I do know how hard it is to find an editor. I hope that everything works out for you.

I am an Author as well. I have written seven novels, (2 I have scrapped)
About five years ago I finished the one that is currently being published.

Edit your book yourself. No one does better than yourself because you are the most critical. Then find a family member or a friend who can give you good criticism and bad. After that ask them to help you edit the novel. You should really think on getting it to a publisher.

My novel Dimensional Perception has been a tough one, but after much personal editing and editing by my Mom (More ideas than actual editing) the book is less than three weeks from being published by Dream Catcher Publishing Inc.

Don't give up on your novel that much I can say. Edit it until you can't stand to see it anymore. Start writing another novel and then come back a couple of months later and edit it again. Then send it to several agents or publishers. If you want to pay someone to edit it for you, then make sure you trust that person completely.

I have not tried to write a book but I write just articles. May be in future I will be doing that. You could try to publish some e-book and get some money. That may help you with the costs involved in editing. Best of Luck!

In highschool I asked my teacher if she would give me extra credit if I wrote a book. (I was already making an A in english so I don't know what made me think I needed it) I spent the whole year handwriting a book in my best handwriting. I filled up one of those 5 subject notebooks and finished the book. Gave it to the teacher and she said she liked it. I asked her about the extra credit and she gave me that blank stare, I was mad and threw it away. Thought I was hurting her and it really ended up hurting me cause I wasted a year of my life.

Now I have like 6 started, but can't ever seem to finish them. I always feel like I am wasting time if I don't multi task (even at home).

Why would you send your book for copyright? You do know it is protected the minute you write it?

Congratulations on writing your first book!

I have not written any books but I felt the need to reply because a friend of mine is about to publish his first book. It's a prayer book and I was one of the people he asked for help to type it up and I was his photographer.
He is only 19 and was inspired to write the book for one reason or another. He said he'll give me a free copy of his book and I wasn't expecting anything in return really. I decided I would take it though. I like to be an open minded person and even though I initially told him it was okay I didn't want a copy. I think it'd be good for me to have a read through it anyway.

I used a self-publishing for the first book that i wrote, although there are some editors there as well that could handle editing your book for very little cost,but make sure you have a copyright even before going to edit it.Later,you will have to work on the marketing,and they can do this for you as well. Create a website and use other tools for marketing.There are so many ways to market,if you have problem about this,please let me know!
