what are the musical instruments that you play?  | |  I play both the guitar and piano. i want to learn the drums next. i bought a dvd kit and a book it's for beginners so it's just the basics. if i get to master the basics then i'd find more sources and try to practice my skills by doing cover songs.
there's a lot of other instruments that i want to play, i can play the electric bass but im not that good at it it's actually almost the same as the guitar but it's a bit different in terms of structure and the way you play it too. I really want to play the violin or the cello next but first things first. I don't think i would want to play any of the wind family instruments though. LOL i just don't think it's my dish.
how bout you guys do you play any musical instruments? if you do how did you learn them? what are the materials you used (i mean books, dvd lessons, etc) i wanna get some idea how you started i might learn something new.

Before that I used to play Keyboard that is the reason why I don`t have problems learning new tunes. Anyway I bought some books to get the right idea and every evening I tried half an hour. You can believe me in the beginning I thought that I would never bring it out correctly. Meanwhile it is a lot of fun and since half a year roughly the songs I choose to play are not that simple anymore.
If I have the chance I am playing together with somebody. That helped a lot too.

I mostly play the piano, guitar, chromatic harmonica, melodica, violin, viola, and autoharp. Occasionally, I play around with my zither and Irish tinwhistle.
I haven't had much interest in drums so far, but maybe someday. I'm thinking the next instrument I'll try to learn is the bowed psaltery.

Or just start your own band with a few of your friends...indy bands are awesome!!!! Another option would b to take lessons like at a music school or something like that but these are probably ur best options.

You know the songs in the church were pretty hard. Most of them were off beat and they're just too complicated, you know sometimes i wonder where they get these alien chords. Ive never had formal musical education cause it turns out most of the music teachers at the music school are just my bandmates LOL.. so i can like ask them about music. and i really have already learned the basics of music. I think what im looking for is just more knowledge and more sources for that knowledge. i believe that if you study music you have to be open-minded about it. Therefore i really wanted to know how other people started, what kind of music the got into first, what were the materials they used. stuff like that. | |
