Have you ever seen a hummingbird nest?

Yes, I have seen them! I see the hummingbirds fly and dance through the sky! So beautiful.

I don't think there are hummingbirds in my country... but i have seen some nest... and are the the ones made by the birds we call Maya... these are small birds that are quite abundant in my country... and it was originally our national bird... but the title was taken from them and given to the Philippine Eagle...

But because of a lot of tree cuttings... i saw a decline in the number of these birds... i hope they are still abundant in other areas...

I have seen many abandoned nests and only a few nests where i found eggs and not the young ones...the eggs are so very small that in wonder how a bird could come out of it...i have seen birds building a nest many a times and then i have seen quite grown ones when taking food from their mother's mouth...and once when i was very young, there was a hummingbirds nest i guess, which had three eggs in it, i found it in my garden in the mango trees and i used to watch it everyday to see the eggs hatch, i was noting it for over 10 days, there was no change and on the 11th day, there were no eggs in, only the abandoned nest was there and i was so upset that i cried a lot that day

Hi sacmom! I haven't seen any hummingbird's nest before and I don't think we have hummingbirds here in our country but I am not that sure. However, there are some birds' nests on the branches of the trees in our yard. I have seen them up close and there are eggs in the nest. I have seen them hatched and being fed too. However, never knew what kind of birds they are but they are very common here in our country. They are small birds with dull brown and grey feathers. They look cute though.

I haven't seen any hummingbird's nest. I don't also think that we have that particular specie of bird here in my country. One thing I am sure though is that we don't have it here in my city.

birds are just small things. we cannot learn much from them apart from the way they fly, react,do things so on.

Yes, last year a saw a pigeon nest. I could see the nest from my balcony, Everyday i went to see if the eggs already hatched. I'm sad because they didn't came back this year.

Hello Sacmom, just last week I noticed two robins flying in and out of my apricot tree. When I went to check it out there was a nest up there. I've been watching them over the last week and its obvious that they have eggs there but I'm not sure they've hatched yet but they are taking good care of them and I'm doing my best not to disturb them. I dont have a camera so I cant get any pictures of them yet but I'm going to try to borrow one soon.
I do have a hummingbird feeder in my front yard and it does get a few visitors from time to time but I have no idea where they nest.

I have never seen a hummingbirds nest but I have seen a hummingbird fly and it is so fascinating. I put a link to a mytube that shows a wild dove who made a nest in this women's hanging plant. The reason I liked this is a dove did the same thing to me. It wasn't a basket but a hanging planter. Every year my dove would come back. I could sit on the porch and she always stayed right there on her nest. I loved hearing her cooing. It was very relaxing. Here is the link and it is really neat.

That was so cute,that is the first one i have ever seen,i really enjoyed looking at that.I have humming feeing here a lot i have my feeder hanging right in front of my window,so i can watch them,thet are so fast and beautiful.
