Is the internet really safe?

Internet was never safe and never it will. only thing protects you here is how good you internet security suit is and how much you know about security over net. if you are aware of threaths then you can fight/ protect to/ from it and that is the only way that one can surf safely.

Well one thing I know is never give out personal info to anyone, except maybe Paypal or something where millions of people use it, and it's highly trusted.

using internet is very safe untill u r concious wat u r doing.(i am a bit poor at spellings). k no one can hack your accounts. it will be u who will be hacking your own accounts. i mean now can steal ur data unless u send it to them or open the gates for them to take it away. newer login to your accounts from some links found in other pages as there will be fake login pages and this is the major way of hacking. and use good firewall to protect yourself from spam. and the main thing is when ever u download some file first scan it with gud antivirus and the use it.


if u take care of these things u can really enjoy using internet.

Internet is not at all safe for those users who don't know much about computers.
See,even i also don't know much about computers,but still i succeeded to get passwords of nearly 150 users of orkut.so if a user like me can do that much,Guess what can other master guys do?????.
So internet is not at all safe,,you have no privacy on internet.
the two basic hacking techniques which i know and i always be aware so that nobody else can try these at me are
1)Phising--fake login page
while logging into a site,,always have a look at the address bar,many times the page look like a famous site(suppose paypal),,but in reality these pages are designed by some hackers to get ur password.
look at a fake page designed to get orkut accts.---www.0rkutaspx.x10hosting.com
2)trojans and keyloggers
i dont know much about these,,but they are very simple to insert into someones pc to get information.Most of the Trojans gets detected by Antivirus programs.So keep updating ur antivirus.

i think the most important problem wioth internet security is that people are ignorant about the security measures that one should take care off....having uptodate softwares,not sharing passwords and so on....

many people have their girlfriends name as password which is easy to guess by their frnds.

so take care when u use ur gf's name as pass.

The internet lulls me into a false sense of security. I always feel safe when I am on here, but the truth is I am not safe. Especially if I do too much browsing and sign my email address up to too many things, that is when the danger starts.

I scrutinise everything that comes into my email and I scrutinise everything I go on and if I am in doubt, I chuck it out. I am just really careful what I do these days.

In this world nobody is perfect in the same way Internet is also not safe. Daily there are 1.25 Billion people using this Internet, but till now we are unable to make it safe. If would be because of us or the Internet services. what ever it is Internet is not safe and i hope i will never be safe as long as it exists. You said that some people use there girl friends names as their password. My advice to them is not to use girlfriends names as passwords. I advice them to use some numbers or special characters for their passwords.
