Mother's Day...

Hi my friend,

I have trouble every year celebrating Mother's Day, Father's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I lost my mother 7 years ago and my father 26 years ago. (darn it doesn't seem like it's been that long) Even though I'm a mother myself and I have a mother-in-law, I feel that Mother's Day is just another day in the week. My hubby buys his mom a card for the holiday.

I even have trouble at Christmas and Thanksgiving for the past 7 years. I don't feel like celebrating. They have a gathering for these holidays up at my in-laws and I've only went like 3 times in the past 7 years.

So I guess I have no answers for your problem since I can't seem to help myself.

My Mom is still with me but I understand what you're saying. My husband shared a birthday with my Mom. Since he's passed I find it extremely hard to celebrate her birthday. I cannot even imagine what Mother's Day will be like once she's gone. However, my Mom goes to the grave site of her Mom every year for Mother's Day & takes new flowers. It seems to give her peace.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know it would make it hard to celebrate Mother's Day, or to remember their birthday. Fortunately I still have my mother, and I thank God for her everyday, she had a stroke a few years ago, and I'm glad that we still have her today, but I have lost my father, and its hard to celebrate Father's Day too, he's been gone a long time but I still think about him on that day, I've also lost my grandfather, and it makes it even harder, because I miss him so much, he was like a father to me after my dad was gone. I know what you mean, we've all lost loved ones, but somehow we must go on, no matter how hard it is. Have a good day...
