Do You have a WalMart in your city or town?

Oh, don't even get me started on them discontinuing layaway - dumbest thing Walmart's done in a while.
I have many many Walmarts where I live, and I shop at them about once a week. I don't use their eye exam place or their pharmacy because my coverage provides these things for free so long as I do them on base - but everything else sure is convenient!
I hear that their building a Walmart even closer to where I live (because God knows I hate driving the 7 miles to the current closest one, lol), and I'm ecstatic - my husband's a bit worried, though, he thinks we'll go broke!

Well, I don't have one in my actual town. I have to drive a couple of towns around me and they all take from either 20 to 1/2 hour.
BUT, they are going to put one in our town and I can't wait! I hate driving and wasting gas when one of my kids have a last minute projects for school!
I can't wait to see what they will put in it because it is going to be the first type in the world that is laid out like a school campus.
I get my eyes checked and I like the Subway that is there also.

I have been saving with the $4 prescription plan since I injured my wrist 3 months ago. And it's where I usually go for a haircut, she does a really good job. I have bought tires there, gotten oil changes, and all while I was shopping. I love it now that they have expanded the scrapbooking section and they are getting in new products. I normally go there to buy groceries too, and I save probably $20 or more just on everyday stuff. I'm not sure why they discontinued lay-a-away, that was a busy department in the fall. I think they should rethink that idea and maybe consider bringing it back. I can see how it took up a lot of room in the back, I used to work for Walmart in Texas. They had to have a pretty big area for lay-a-away, and would even bring in extra storage containers at Christmas time for all the items people put on lay-a-away.

we do have a few around here (walmart canada) and i find that their prices are quite good. we buy our cat food there! i dont have the grocery type of walmart near me (thats on the other side of the city!) but i like the fact that over christmas, a few of them go 24 hours. i never used the lay away plan...why did they discontinue it?

Yeah, I deal with Wal Mart, but don't necessarily like them! I'd rather go to K Mart any day. Prices are a bit better, but I'm still bitter at the company and don't really care too much about how they operate!
