All religions are flawed

Since time immemorial, people have searched for God and the divine. That is why people will always worship even in the absence of formal established religion. Man feels the emptiness that can only be filled with the divine. As a Catholic, I may argue that our religion is not flawed because that is what I actually believe. However, there are explanations for our beliefs too. But one thing that I cannot really explain is the FAITH. I just believe that it is not flawed because it comes directly from Christ and what could be more perfect with the Holy Spirit guiding us. But I also have an open mind because I don't necessary believe that other religions are wrong. We may differ in our practices or in our religion but we are all searching for a Divine Being or God. It's like going to the mall, some of us make take the bus or use our cars, or the motorcycle. Different ways of going to the mall and all would arrive at the mall. All of us are searching for God and we have different ways of searching but we are still looking for the same God and hopefully we will all find God.

But what if God comes and reveals himself? If we try to speculate there can be all sorts of error, but if God reveals through a man or something like that so that he gives to us what we need to know then it's possible to know correctly what has been revealed. That does not mean that all is known, what is actually known is what is revealed. I think that is one way of saying about things. Many religions considered themselves to be truly revealed by God. They don't think it's the result of human speculation.

All religions are flawed because the human desire to believe in supernatural powers came from a time in our evolution where we were subject to powerful forces of nature that we could not control or understand. We developed a belief in gods and a method to influence these gods by prayer and sacrifice so they would stop drought and floods and any other natural catastrophe. As this did not work all the time the idea was developed that sinful people in the community were responsible for angering the gods and being the cause of whatever disaster befell the people. These sinners would be killed or thrown out of the community. Now that we have developed the scientific method to explain all the disasters that happen like earthquakes, hurricanes etc. we no longer have the need for gods and no need to persecute people who cannot or will not obey a set of rules developed in the bronze age.

i just believe that religions can't save you.Only GOD can..have a nice day..

Religions are not flawed so much as people are flawed. A religion may be written with grace and beauty, but then it may be interpreted less so by the folks following it. Each person reads and sees things differently. It is what makes life exciting. Though sometimes we could stand a little less excitement.

All organized religions are flawed because they are created by man and man by nature is flawed. Just look at any religion of the world and follow it's history, you will see changes made to it's laws, scriptures, and interpretations based on the political power of that era, not because the divine being the followers worship told them they were doing it wrong. The institution of religion has become nothing but a way for corrupted people to gain power and spread their corrupted views.

I'm comfortable with my relationship with the Divine, and with the Gods, but I know they are far far bigger than I could ever hope to grasp.

so I'll make do with the part of it that I can get my head round.

no its totaly wrong,religion is the basic need for human,and if any one said that religions are flawed then he/she will be looser

Hi scammerwear, Thank you for starting this discussion and for showing that you have such an open mind when it comes to religion. I am not religious myself although I am spiritual and very interested in all things dealing with the subject. I agree with you that all religions carry at least a spark of truth, although I suspect that most have wandered far from the original teachings. I feel sure that it is not possible for us to comprehend the divine, and I think that some factions in religion, at least in Christianity, which is the one that I know most about, are beginning to see that in recent years as well. Not long ago I attended the funeral of a friend in a Roman Catholic church, the presiding priest was a man of more than 70 years, who was retired from regular service and who had no doubt given much thought to matters of life and death. In his homily he asked the question, "what happens at death", and answered it by saying, "we don't know, how can we who are human comprehend the divine"? He went on to say more of course but from those few words, I knew I was hearing what no priest or minister would have admitted publicly twenty years ago. While in many ways the Catholic church is very slow to accept change, even some of the leaders are asking questions about things that really matter. Some churches are moving forward but like you I have problems with anyone who professes to have the whole truth while everyone else is wrong. Blessings.
