What would u do if u realized a friend of yours had stolen something from you?

Thankfully I don't think I've had this happen to me - if it has I haven't realised. It did happen to a friend of mine though.

She knew a girl who was having some problems at home, so let her move in to her spare room. Because she was still at school she was onlt asked to pay a very small amount of rent, out of courtesy more than anything. Unfotunately she got involved with drugs and ended up stealing the rent money from my friend and their other house mate.

My friend was very upset by it. She was friends with this girl and had gone out of her way to help her and this was how she was repaid. I guess it just goes to show what drugs can do to some people.

just tell her you know. like something like listen i know your not gonna tell me but i know you took my cigarettes i saw you, i know you did it

Maybe you are in too much familiarity. She is so confident that you don;t care if she will get something. Maybe this is not the only time she did it and you seems not making it a big deal when it happened before, so, she was used to it. Well, there are people who are like that. They take advantage of your kindness. The best thing is to confront her and tell her straight that, next time she has to ask..

Yes,I have had this happen to me more than once all you can do is leave the person alone or just except that this person is a thief and will do it to you again and again if you keep this friendship with her.Sometime it is a form of jealous impluse which drive such a person they feel that you have more than they do and it isn't fair so they take from others,I'll bet that others have experience the same thing from this person ask around because now you know for a fact this person is a theif.

Many years ago I had a neighbor that did this to me.....what happened was really funny in the end though as she took a bottle of perfume that I hadn't opened. Well a few weeks later I went to a birthday party in the neighborhood and low and behold.....the gift she had given to the birthday girl was my perfume....The opportunity was there so I couldn't resist....I said. Hey that looks just like the perfume I am missing...! She turned so red you wouldn't believe it! LOL...she never took anything from my house again.....of course I didn't give her the opportunity to either. I never invited her back!

I will never trust her anymore. The first time she stole small thing, second time she will still the bigger thing and after that she will do the same thing or take advantage due to our carelessness.

Dump the friend! Do n ot allow someone to come in your home that you can not trust. You are lucky that at this point it has only been small. What if she collects information about you and does Identity Theft? May other things can happen. My husband had someone else use his birthdate and address when they got pulled over for a ticket. This resulted in my husband having a warrent for an unpaid traffic ticket. He knew nothing about the ticket because of course he is not the one that was stopped. It is hard to correcft issues like this. You could have your credit ruined or even wind up in jail. She could take somthing more valuable the next time. Dump her and if necessary, change your locks.

Even though this time was just cigarettes..what will it be the next time? With true friends you shouldn't feel like you have to protect your possessions. Friends don't steal things from you..they politely ask. If they are stealing from you then they're really not your friends and you should get rid of them as fast as possible. Walking away from people who you once considered your friend can be tough, but in the long run think how much better you'll feel.

That is sad. It has not happen to me but I hope that things between you and her get better, it is hard to let someone in your home if you lose the trust.

that sux i've had my i touch almost stolen same thing it was this girl that seemed pretty nice and all and i trusted her and we were friends for a whole year at school and she asked to borrow it for a class period bad idea on my part she tried to steal that and my headphones and they were expensive ones to that i love. Thank god one of my friends found her and got it back for me. I learned don't trust anyone with your stuff or with your stuff alone lol. Then the next day i had a group of friend that were all want to settle this american style the name of my high school and i was all no just leave it shes not worth our tme. Anyways yeah don't trust anyone with your stuff lol
