My backroung  | |  says i have spyware on my computer. My moms boyfriend who lives with us says it happened to him one time but its not a big deal. They are just trying to make you buy something until it goes away.
Has anyone else had this happen?

In the last several months i've encountered six computers with this spyware or a variant.
SpybotS&D works well but is not completely guaranteed to rid your computer of the infestation. http://www.safer-networking.org
Wouldn't hurt to have Avast do a boot-scan. http://www.avast.com
Adaware is yet another good program to run. http://lavasoft.com
My last encounter with this thing i was forced to use an old tool called SmitfraudFix. http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php
As i said, it sounds like something i've been dealing with but i am not 100% certain. With a little more information on what exactly the popups say we can possibly figure it out.
