Talking Peace While Waging Wars

we really don't know what these groups are up to. wea re all Filipinos and yet we cannot settle our own differences. though the governement has been looking for ways to settle all disputes, these people just don't get the heck of bringing chaos to our society. we should spare innocent lives and give justice to their death. hope these rebels would come to their senses and realize that they can never attain the respect and acceptance of the whole Filipino nation if they wouldn't surrender together with their guns

I do not believe all that was fed to us by the military. With esperon as peace adviser in Mindanao, how can we say that this regime really wants peace. Now, it is out that gma is talking with MILF because she want this as her legacy (just like her boss bush who is working for midle east peace as his legacy). Nothing wrong with that if she did not earn from this but I have heard somewhere that the OIC is spending $2 billion just to separate bangsa Moro from the Philippines and that more than 45% of that money was already in gma's and fg's hands!

We will never have peace if we are too biased to see the whole picture.

It's really frustrating that we have not achieved real peace in our country. May it be in the south or somewhere else. It's sad that despite the efforts of our government to settle the issues concerning peace, we seem to be far behind such goal.

The president once waged an all-out-war against terrorism and the like. However, nothing has really happened.

One day, I hope that we will all be able to settle all our problems so we can truly achieve peace and progress.

These groups are really such a pain in the a**! The people in Mindanao are peace loving citizens and only these few disgruntled people are just making so much mess terrorizing the civilians. I am pro peace negotiations and that both sides should turn down their guns and talk on even grounds. But it seems somewhere along the way, there has been some breached and the government was again left unprepared. 'Para na lang laging natutulog sa pansitan ang mga dapat may kapangyarihan sa sitwasyon sa lugar na ito.'

Everyone of us knows that there are threats on those areas and each side are thinking about strategies on how to defeat the opponents. Bakit ba laging hindi napo-protektahan ang mga civilians? Who dunnit??? Minsan, nakakainis na and I am thinking (sorry for my dirty thoughts) they're just doing these to get some sympathies. So sorry, but this has gone way so disgusting on how poor our national defense.

Yes that is just a very disappointing gesture from them. We have been forging negotiations with them for quite sometime and they seem to do it to play some time with the military. After getting enough strength they would do their thing. The MILF leadership maybe sincere in their efforts to make peace but I think this will make all efforts futile if they cannot control their commanders on the ground. I think it is useless to make an effort negotiating peace with anyone who cannot control their ground forces. It may be that we may forge peace with their leaders but we might as well get another faction that will break away from the organization and will start and wage a new war again with the government. It's just frustrating to know this things are like going around for quite sometime already
